2011 Queensland Blokart State Titles
Hosted by Central Queensland Blokart Club.
CQBC will be adding another event to the blokarting calendar with the
2011 Queensland Blokart State Titles to be held on Farnborough Beach Yeppoon at Rydges Resort from Friday 15th April to Monday 18th April 2011.
This is the start of the Queensland school holidays and the weekend before the Easter long weekend.
This is the same venue as our previous Australian Opens.
The event will start with scrutineering and practice on Friday 15th April with short course racing on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th and a 100km marathon on Monday 18th April.
This event is open to all competitors, Queensland, Australia, and the World.
Scoring will be on a lowest accumulative point score total per class with a win being 1 point, 2nd 2 points ect.
Accommodation can be secured through Rydges Resort or locally at various holiday houses, units and the caravan park which has units, caravan and camp sites.
Transfers from Rockhampton Airport to Rydges Resort can be organized in advance through Rydges Resort or with hire car companies.
For those choosing to drive, Rydges is only 10minutes from Yeppoon and Yeppoon is 40km from Rockhampton and 360km south from Mackay. From Brisbane it is 675km north to Yeppoon.
Yeppoon is a town on the Capricorn Coast of roughly 15000 people and has various facilities to make a blokarting trip an interesting holiday destination as well.
Saturday night will have an evening dinner at Rydges Resort included in the entry fee with additional seats available for guests. Other meals can be sourced through the resort or at any of the many venues at Yeppoon or self catered.
CQBC will have a sausage sizzle and drinks available on the beach during the event.
More details will be released as the event draws closer.
For further enquiries, contact myself or any of the CQBC committee members.

Reminder. Put this event on your Blokart calendar as must do, being run by a club with a good event record at a well known venue.
Happy Blokarting and sailing at upcoming S.O.O.4 & Aust Nationals in Victoria.

A friendly reminder to all Karters. The "2011 Queensland State Titles" Is still regardless of our current flood problems around our great state, "IS STILL ON". A little rain will not affect our great Yeppon Beach, with water at Rockhampton droping back well now, this three day event will be worth comming to.(don't forget the 100km marathon on last day) see you all in our now sunny state in April.
Regards Dave Moore Central Qld Blokart Club.

Dave, do you have any idea how many Kiwi's might make the trip over?
Due to the floods causing reduced numbers for the Nationals I'm banking on a great turnout for your event.
I am trying my best to come over but Julie can't get the time off.
Cheers
Andy B
Andy: I believe the Kiwi's have a masters event on in this area. We have entry forms ready to go out and will be in close contact with them. We are at this stage using some of their transponders for our timming gear, so hopfully will get karters as well to this three day event. Have told Rydges we are looking at posable 80+ for dinner night. will stay in touch with you. Dave Moore Central Queensland Blokart Club.(The land of good sailing breezes this week)
Entry form is now done and on the CQBC web page at cqbc.yolasite.com/
or at http://z3.invisionfree.com/CQBC_Forum/index.php?act=site
Download it from there or pm me and I will send you a copy.
Darren
Yeah, holidays approved even though a supposedly backout period. Gee I have a good boss when I explained why I needed time off. Just have to get our forms in now
We are looking at running a flyweight production class for the kids at the Queensland Titles.
Entry would be to novice 14 year old and under to encourage our next generation of racers.
Entry fee will be the same as normal with the class dependent on a field minimum of 6 and races and trophies will be presented as per the rest of the classes.
For those interested, please contact me or one of the CQBC committee members for more details.
If parents are sharing a kart with their child, be aware that you will need a transponder each and only one will be able run in the marathon as all competitors will be racing at once in the marathon.
The flyweight division will have their races separate from the more seasoned racers to give them the opportunity to ease into competition racing.
Darren.
Early entry discount expires on the 15th of March 2011.
Entries must be paid in advance to qualify for the discount.
Get your entries in now to take advantage of the discount rate.
Good news ! Both Julie and I have booked our flights for Queensland, another of our members in John Heron will be coming with us also so that's two from W.A.
Really looking forward to the 100km marathon
Next trip in our sights will be Ivanpah Nevada next year bring it on
Realy good news Andy. This inaugural event for the Central Qld town of Yeppoon is fast becomming a major event on the Blokart calender, with good registration results in so far and still rolling in. Looking forward to sailing with the gentlemen from W.A. in April. Regards Dave Moore C.Q.B.C.
Qld State Titles 2011. Regisrations are great, only 8 days to go, B.O.M. weather at Yeppoon 3.30pm 5-4-11. SE.14kts gusting 23kts. rain 2mm. looking good.
Regards David Moore.
Pre-entries are up to our Cape Hillsborough Regatta total entries already and we still have the Rocky mob to fill their forms in.
The way things are heading, we will have about the numbers we had at the 2010 Nationals CQBC ran at Yeppoon last year.
Many are looking forward for the chance to claim the inaugural Queensland Titles trophy and compete in the 100km marathon.
We have a lot of new entries this year from water sailing modes and they will no doubt raise the level of performance for others to challenge.
Bring on race week!
Darren
I am getting excited and cant wait to catch up with our northern friends again. Karts are in the middle of the lounge room with a big pile of gear and will be packed by Sunday night with leaving straight after work on Wednesday. See you all soon.
We will be at number 45, so call in for a drink when you get there.
Our gear will hopefully be sorted this weekend, after spending our spare time sorting out event gear and work stuff.
Why does work always get busier when you need to get away?
We will appreciate the break.
Looking forward to catching up.
Darren
