Its quite here Nickypoos, hows things the way you come, Cisco is probably sleeping in or out looking for his horse. Did you hear it, the noise from the lake out west, this morning not long after dawn. Sound travells a bit slower than light so it may still take you some time yet....keep listening..... Sounded like a big big chook......or.........maybe.....a ROOSTER now, listen for the crowing.
Im hearing more thunda from the west as i clean my tent, getting ready for delite savings. Cleaned all outdoor furniture, stumps and 20 litre oil tins. Went thru everything and found all my ly products dusted them off instead of buying them again, Now with 2 working shoulders life is somewhat better , need exercise, so am walking every morn at 6 am, 8 circuits of footy field which is 4 ks. No shock loading on knees and hips [had them xrayed this week] maybe next replacements. Dusted the cross trainer from outdoor and placed it mid stream in front of tv, sad thing needs lotsa sexersize....have a goood weekend...

Only thing i'm hearing this morning is the sound of hangovers in the distance. There seems to be no news headlins, so maybe they all be Ok, Heard anything Nickypoos?
Hi Fellas,
yep- Chooks monster lives!
last I saw (Monday arvo) the crew were mostly still alive and hadnt lost too much hair.
The jet needs a bit of fine tuning, the sparklers work a treat at lighting the fire.
It needs some fine tuning with the fuel feed- trying to get the right amount isnt too simple- and bottles freeze up after a minute or so.
When first fired up, fellas 3 klicks away-cutting firewood, could hear it over thier chainsaw!
(they actually thought thier chainsaw was making a strange noise until they turned the saw off- and the noise was still there!)
When it quit due to freezing up, we could hear the echo roaring back from St Ives minesite for another 30-40 seconds.
awesome stuff!
cant wait to see the vids!
I took "Pannikin" for a spin on sat, sun, monday, 4.5m sail,
winds varied from light to the "ohs%^*I'mscrewed" level
I have no idea how I survived
The lake surface is perfect, winds were light and patchy to start with, but got better and better.
Sunday 10pmish, the wind came up and a lot of us went for a sail- torch taped to mast shining onto the sail- and "firefly" LED flashing lights screwed onto wheel valvecaps.
Bloke with a kite buggy had his kite thingy lit up- looked like a giant leaf blowing in the wind- pretty cool
minesite blokes must have been going loopy trying to work out what was going on out on the salt.
I got a bit "geographically embarrassed" at one point until I spotted a flashing light- assuming it was one of the landyachts I tried chasing it- turned out to be a minesite vehicle beacon on a causeway (oops) did a quick 180 and found the pack way behind me
Chook and a few of the "non work afflicted" crew are staying on a bit longer to test out the huge kite buggy Chook made, and have some more fun.
Only thing I've heard , so far, is a Frog in the audiance. Ribit, ribit, ribit. Ain't like to hear nuthi till one of yuz westerners posts some footage.
I didn't even manage to catch a Trout even though the weather SCREAMED "FISH"
Ron
well joe, it is my opinion that land sailing in this state anyway has passed awayand if it hasn't yet passed away it's about to and i suspect it would take a miricle to revive it from it's present stateand i don't do miricles anymore so i guess i'll leave it to it's own death throws to many key board sailors, to many wanna be's,call it what you will but as far as i can see it's like flogging a dead or dying horse
That's so sad to hear!!!!
I take my hat off to you, for busting your bum, to get things moving.
I look forward to sailing with you in SA one day.
Hey BB sad to hear but I think fairly accurate, you have done a good and persistant job of promotion, ITs not dead though ,i am working on two builds. pretty peeed off as i didnt make the big lake this year as i wanted too, but I am sure that next year will be my year and have started working towrds that. So why dont you and I make it a date and a challenge to do the big one [before i become too old]
ye seems like a plan Joe, now that I'm working for myself I can plan ahead, as it were,,,yeh Ron I think I'll just "do my own thing" for awhile and see what happens, if anyone wants to come sailing when i do they'll be welcome,, still have a trip or two planned to lake gilles before it gets to hot,, or maybe after xmas when the summer heat has gone,,,so i'll still be sailing around i guess,,
Hey Tony we are planning to come across to Lake Gillies for Melbourne Cup Weekend more than welcome to wander out and join us.
