Landsailing World championship 2008. Rada Tilly.Argentina.
Is a monument in honor to Johan Byttebier .
starting to make me think...
lots of narrow gauge rails in Western Australia either little used or abandoned!
and South Australia....though for some sections you would need brakes and a
chainsaw occasional trees of up to 150mm trunks in middle of track.....
I'm curious??????
Can you show us a close up of the rail runners/bearing system.
You have put a lot of work into getting it to run so smoothly and stay centred on the rails. A first class effort !!!!
Thank you!!!!!
That is a very clever system. It's very well thought out and great to see you having a ball in a totally different arena than what we use for sailing.
I would be fitting a rear view mirror, for when the freight train is approaching though.
Stephen, once again you were on the money.
I had a bit of an advantage- one of the Brandrill bosses that visited Wodgina when I was working there happened to own a property in the southwest that has an abandoned trainline running past his back fence.
We brainstormed how to build outriggers for mountainbikes so they could ride on one of the unused rails, with a collapsable outrigger reaching to the other rail.
The riders pack was used as ballast on the outrigger to prevent tipping over.
The outrigger unclipped and could be stowed on the bike so you could still ride on roads.
The boss was planning on making a couple to test- and if it worked, hiring them out to tourists.
I was transfered to Sinclair soon after and never found out what happened.
Damnh! A vehicle with an Out Board Motor I am glad to see that sort of playing happening though ??????Where is the Sail????
