Dear Seabreezers,
I need help!
I have just found out today that once we get Fusion slipped in the river at the Port of Brisbane, we can only board her from the water.
This would have been nice to know a bit earlier!
I am hoping to slip her on Wednesday/Thursday this week. My problem is I don't have anybody with a power boat/sail boat, the usual crowd are all away.
So I was wondering if there is anybody with a boat in the Brisbane River that could pick me up from say Rivergate and drop me off on Fusion at the Port of Brisbane?
I am more than happy to pay someone for their time, handover my first born, whatever it takes, the lateness of this advice has left me in a bit of a pickle.
Thanks guys, I am not expecting any miracles, just reaching out in the off chance there is a Seabreezer out there that is bored and local around this time.
Thanks in advance,
SB
I could drive down from Bundaberg with my 10 ft tinnie and 8 hp Yamaha o/b if you really needed but it sounds like "theselkie" has you sorted.
hi shaggy
give brisbane port launches a call if you are stuck it will probably cost a couple of Hundred though as they are a commercial operation.
Or ask if you can borrow /rent rivergate marinas 14 ft tinny
If you can get a tinny you can use the public boat ramp at the boat passage around the corner from the port. It's alot closer than Rivergate.
you're welcome to borrow my 2.4m tender with 3hp if you can't get a tinnie, I could meet you at the boat passage ramp.
Dear Seabreezers,
I just wanted to say thanks to you all for the kind offers of assistance, I was overwhelmed by the selflessness of you sailors. Selkie offered to sail a long way just to give me a lift, Cisco offered to drive his tinny down from Bundaberg, Seabird offered not only his tinny but to meet me at the ramp.....
I only hope I get to repay the favour one day.
The option I went for was suggested by Spiggie (thanks mate), as I would only take up one of those kind offers if I couldn't do it any other way myself, and Brisbane POrt Launches can get me up there and stand off to assist with a tow if needed.
Thanks to all, I do appreciate it.

I suggest this track to be blasting out of the speakers as you crank her up on her first big downwind run.......
and then just prior to the first big Gybe .......................... " all that pressure got you down " ahhhhhhhh
Hahaha....I like the mast quip! I never noticed that.
You guys missed the perfect song for a Pogo, we adopted this as our theme song (then Comanche stole it, grr).....so without further ado.....
Jeez!
Is it actually shrink wrapped...?
Hi Datawiz,
Yes mate...that's not all, look at what they did to my mast....
I think you over ordered on those green cylinder things.
...
That's the new generation water ballast, they used recycled 600ml water bottles, you just have to manually stack them after every tack....
Edit: Or it is actually a Swedish boat. You know when you assemble something from Ikea and you have a few dowels left over? Oops.......

HI HG,
I am thinking about going into the S2H, so I overcompensated for the backstayless design??
Or: When I grow up, I really want to be a cardinal mark? I just don't know which direction I want to take?
Pity it wasn't bubble wrapped, then you could have some real fun popping each bubble!
Mmmmmmm.....bubble wrap.........
Or how about this one...."Dumbkopf! That not how the keel goes on, you had the instructions sideways!!!"
Ha Ha S and S. You must jumping out of your skin Shaggy.
Hi Andy,
We pulled up next to her today, and as soon as we stepped out of the ute and for the first time heard Aussie voices around her, that was the first time I started to get a lump in my throat.
It has been so long staring at pictures, drawings, spreadsheets and sleepless nights, and now there she was.
My moment was broken by one of the old seasoned dog wharfies standing at the stern, neck craned, head moving left and right as he took in the extra wide beam, then turned to me and said " Strewth mate, you must have a small dick!"
I love being Australian....
If Comanche has nicked your theme song, see how this one fits. Congratulations on the achievement so far. You are nearly there so stay focussed.
sorry i drifted off in a ytube thing there for a while and ended up here ........ shes magnificent shaggy ! enjoy . when you are drifting along in a light breeze doing 10 knts !!! you can play this

Hi Seabird, yes mate, she is now sitting in her berth at Manly, yay!
We managed to motor her around yesterday from the port of Brisbane with the mast strapped to the deck. It didn't get below 20 knots for the entire trip!
After some sleep, today we started work on prepping the mast for the lift on the 4th. This is after connecting the spreaders and shrouds . We're all set to go, can't wait!
Good work, so the fire works at Manly last night were in celebration of her arrival?
Does someone from Pogo come out to supervise the commissioning?
