I thought I would start a new thread with the date in subject line so people keep it in mind.
For people who didn't read the old thread we are planing a sailing weekend to Lucinda Bay on the inside of Moreton Island on the 21 & 22 Nov to enable Seabreeze bloggers to meet.
The following people have indicated they may come along;
Libran, theselkie, Propwalk, bubble7777, nswsailor, Shaggybaxter, Papabear, McNaughtical, HG02, Sunnycoastguy, SandWitch, Andy59
McNaughtical is coming from NSW and needs a berth on someone's boat who preferably is based on the south side of Brisbane. I will have space if theselkie can't get her boat back on the water by then.
if anyone else wants to come but doesn't have a boat please reply and we will try to match people up.
Hello Seabird
just to let you know, I have arisen from feeling sorry for myself over what has happened with my boat. Going to try and have her ready for the weekend get-together :)
Kind regards
Tracey

Good on you Tracey.... hope to see you there
Major hiccup with my plans to come.... Have been blocked on getting those days off from work. The only hope I have of coming now is if I can swap days off with someone who has them closer to the time.
Will be very disappointed to miss out on this opportunity to meet a bunch of you.
Keeping fingers crossed that might still be able to come.

Tracey I hope all goes well, give a shout if you need assistance.
McNaughtical do your best to make it, I'll save you a spot if you manage to swap days. (Isn't work a pain!)
For those who don't know the anchorage at Lucinda Bay here's a link to a youtube video on Lucinda.
Moreton Bay is a gorgeous asset for Brisbane sailors. Gotta keep your navigation right though. There are plenty of sand banks that will stop you dead in your tracks.
This is going to be a great event for you guys, and, for Seabreeze.
You should get on to Laurie and say "How about a few stickers, caps and T shirts for the participants???" It is all good for his web site.

Thanks for the tip Cisco,
Emailed Laurie and he has agreed to send some gear.
I'm not sure want he'll send but I did ask for a Seabreeze flag I could fly from the mast as a marker for other boats.
I reckon that would make a great photo to promote the website.
Hi if anyone stuck that weekend I'll have room on my boat, if your keen, its only 25 foot, sailing out of Mooloolaba

good on you Tracey
With a change of work location, there's a chance I will now be able to get the days off to be able to come!!
Hoping!!
I'm still in!
The new boat is scheduled to be landing about this time, however we have to undo all the packaging, read the user manual, run ropes, get the mast stepped and floating, so this will most likely be the last hurrah for my existing boat and my last weekend off for a while!
do we have a designated vhf channel or something so we can communicate with things like "hey anyone up for a bbq on the beech etc etc"
guess channel 16 isn't the best place for such chatter

I'm keen for a BBQ on the beach , maybe if we kept it simple and do hamburgers, I guess we need to wait until numbers are confirmed before we make firm plans.
McNaughtical might be able to entertain us after dinner with a few tunes. (have you mastered 'Cool Change' yet?)
I suggest we use channel 71 to communicate as channel 73 is used and monitored by the VMR groups around Moreton Bay. I googled channel 71 and couldn't find anyone who used it.
I received today 6 Seabreeze polo shirts and 15 bumper stickers from the website owner to give away on the weekend. Thanks Laurie
I think the shirts should go to the people who make the biggest effort to attend the weekend. ie, people who have travelled the furthest or worked hard to get their boat ready.
To date no one that I listed in the first post of this thread has indicated they are not coming. So hopefully we'll get about 10 boats.
if anybody else is interested in coming please advise.
Should be there.
Lights, aerial etc go on the mast next week, then mast raised soon after.
Cheers
Trace
I will be coming from mooloolaba in my wonderful floating caravan. I can take someone with me too and would actually welcome someone with me on the boat. Sunny coast guy would be good to sail down in company. I was planning to sail down on Friday.

You may want to talk with Propwalk also I believe he is based at Mooloolaba.
Propwalk here, yes I'm still up for it if the weather is reasonable, after our corroboree I'll be heading across to Manley for a week or so.
