Good one Sands.
A couple of comments......I lofted the Lazy Jacks cords on the garage floor, really glad I did
as they fitted perfectly.
When I came to trim the cords to length on board, I used a hot knife powered by an inverter. worked really well
so the cords won't fray.
Can you elaborate a bit more on what was required to loft the cords on floor? Did you mark out the full size of the mast and boom?
Hi knight.
I had already measured boom length (9 foot) and boom to spreader length (15 foot) and boom to cabin top (3 foot).
So with a piece of chalk I just drew a small circle on the floor to represent each point, especially where I had intended
to put the loops on the boom for the Jack cords.
I had the Jack cord and rings so I tied a ring to the cord and laid it on the floor with the ring in the position I thought
best (about 4foot down from the spreaders) then threaded another cord through the ring from one boom loop to the
other and so on. The cord runs down the mast and goes back to the cockpit.
When it was all laid out I could stand back and look to see if everything looked right. It did.
So I cut the cords to length (with a bit extra to trim on board) then took the assembled Jack cords with me to the riggers
and he threaded them through the blocks he had attached.
Back on the mooring I adjusted the cords to how I wanted them and trimmed the excess cord with a hot knife.
They look really good but the proof will be when the actually get used.......hopefully next Monday.
I'm using it because it was what was available at Whitworths.
Knowing very little about lazyjack cord I asked them what should I
use, and this is what they suggested. It is 4mm and comes in a 20m
spool. Is there anything you can see wrong nsw ???.

No that's OK Sam, cord looked of a larger diameter in photo.
Have you a photo of what you did higher up?
Congrats Sam, go you good thing!
Can't wait to hear how you go, are you out this weekend?
Pics under sail please!
Nsw...no I don't have pic of the system higher up. Missus takes the photo's so I'll
see if we can take one from the dinghy showing the complete system.
Shaggy...not out this weekend, but hopefully enough breeze tomorrow to try it out.
I'll see what we can do about an action shot. We are limited by what pics we can
take from the cockpit.
Went to the Sydney Boat Show on Friday. Noticed that most of the big new yachts,
mono and cats, had lazyjacks and stack packs fitted. Can't say I've noticed this
before. Something new ????.
