Damn there are so many amazing foiling waves over east!

I just got back from my trip over east. My assumption that the East Coast has an abundance of epic foiling conditions and setups was definitely right! I had such a great trip.
Conditions didn't line up for the south west rocks wave and the wind and swell mostly wasn't favourable for the point breaks. The sort of everyday beachbreak conditions around northern NSW that I used to find unappealing were really awesome for foiling. The softer shorter period swells ( as compared to WA) were so much easier to ride and so much fun. Smooth wally sand bottomed and very shreddable. Connecting waves in shorter period swells is totally cheating! I was doing 3 for 1"s without batting an eyelid which for a 100kg rider on sup that's not a common thing.
Did manage to squeeze in a couple of really good point sessions including one very small onshore session at Snapper rocks/ the superbank. It was about 1 to 2 foot with wind at the worst possible direction but that meant it was uncrowded enough that I could actually foil it. Got some really long fast rides chasing the little swells down the sand bank and almost managed to make it through to kirra.
Surprisingly my best session was when I was visiting my sister down in Sydney. My trip coincided with their recent run of big south swells. It was mostly too big on the open beaches and too strong westerly to ride waves in the bays. On the Queens birthday the wind finally dropped off and there were nice clean head high swells shoaling into one of Sydney's many bays. The waves were standing up against the outgoing tide, breaking, backing off, breaking again, backing off again and doing this for over a kilometer across a sand bottom. Foil heaven!! Being a public holiday there would have been more than 50 people enjoying the waves on every type of craft imaginable. Me and 1 other sup foiler, a bunch of prone foilers, a couple tow foilers, sup surfers, long boards, wave skis, kids on nippers surf life saving boards and a fair bit of boat and jetski traffic. Despite the numbers it was a big playing field with lots of waves coming through so didn't seem crowded and everyone was having a ball!! It was like a paddle/surf/foil convention. I dont use a gps watch but by my estimates, as measured on google earth, I think I might have cracked the 1 kilometer wave

!! That was a bit of a milestone I was hoping to get to and a great way to top off an epic trip.
Can definitely recommend a holiday to the east coast, particularly north NSW and the Goldy. Epic foiling conditions and a holiday that the Mrs will love too.
