Here is a raw clip from Sunday's session (when the wind never actually came in - again ). But it is kind of cool to see the speeds I needed to get up on the foil, then the cruising speeds. The wind is very light, I catch the edge of a tiny gust, maybe 10kn or so, but end up riding into some very light air.
Excuse the breathing (working harder than usual in the super light air) and the poor GoPro angle (I had my view on wide and not Superview).
Nice video JB. Good to see it can cruise in light wind. Looks like a minimum cruise speed of about 15 kph is enough to keep the foil up & running. I am guessing you are using the Naish XL wing? Thanks for this post. It helps.
Great video JB...my question ..Is the foil board I ride and foil on going to be suitable for the wing..or is there a specific size that suits this better..I ride a 6'6 x 103L and I'm 95kg.

Duotone guys are doing their homework too:
These work well for down wind and come in different sizes .
Maybe with good body technique could work up wind
Those Duotone look great , I saw the proto design for the Cabrhina wind wing looks good as well , September for release.
Here a Quik edit done by the GoPro software. Not too sure how to make it work well, but covers a bit from yesterday's session on the Wing-Surfer.
this will be hard for us weekend warrior, let alone foiling with it

OK - so I have had 3 sessions so far on the duo tone 4m.
Session 1 flew straight away - stacked the gybe. Spent ages getting up the wrong way . ( switch) but once up flew back to the launch.
After that I kinda lost it - and did the walk of shame a few times before retiring exhausted.
Session 2 Many walks of shame as there was a huge swell and I only had an xl naish wing with me as the forecast was for 20knts plus - then eh wind went ballistic - and I finally made it back to the launch ( just to shut up my jeering kitesurf buddies!) 5 hours in the water - mostly bobbing in light winds
Session 3 gusty nasty hitting maybe 30knts at times sometimes 10 - heavy swell again.
This time it all came together - sailed straight out gybed - was miles upwind - rode the swell back in - depowering at will whenever I needed to. The swell was running the wrong way - so I was doing a lot of switch riding - which is a bit like medicine that tastes bad but is good for you.
In the lulls - I was dredging the old grey matter for windsurf strategies - how to get planing using a swell. This had to be timed with leg pumping ( switch - totally alien) and arm pumping ( aka windsurf style) ALL AT THE SAME TIME!!!
but once nailed had it coming up more efficiently.
So far loving it - the freedom on the swells is lovely - pumping the legs at times to stay up - sometimes sheet the wing in and keep going that way to link to the next swell line.
So far it wont go waaaaaay upwind like I can on a kite - I am sure there is performance to come once I figure out which way to angle the wing in order to pinch upwind. When it's howling - there is a tendency to luff up accidentally - less so if you have the wing more above your head - but that does slow you down..
Really looking forward to the next session - put it this way - I am off to Bali - no kites - just a wing and a paddle and a 5'9 SUP with a Couple of foil wings.
Haha classic , reminds me of my early kite surfing days .Solid effort though and the peanut gallery definitely don't help. Did you try a foil ?
