steve, I tried quads on my 8'11 SP25 early on and didnt like it so went back to the thrusters. I only have quads on the 8'8 flow and love them. So I have put some quads back on the SP but just cant leave the flow at home!! It is just one awesome board I have been riding it in all conditions lately and will take just about anything, maybe not really late steep drops! The 8'11 SP25 is a great board it just needs to lose some volume at 150 odd litres it makes it a big board.
Dave ,I know liters is a personal thing and a hot topic at the moment,but... flow 126 ish liters against sp25 150 liters anyone with experience is going to feel that .just saying .

I'll give the quads another go Dave. To be fair the waves weren't that good yesterday.

Stevie it's just finding the right size fins with Quads 7 fronts and 3 rears are usually the correct size I am finding the SPX does need more rear fin as the fins seem to be more forward on the board also more vertical fins I find pivot better and slide better , fin shape is important

Thanks Tardy.
I'll have a play around.
Finally, after a four month wait it's here. Frothing.. 8"8x31 in vapour ex finish. Haven't weighed her but it feels lighter than both the flow and sp25.rails are a lot finer than the sp. looks sooo good in the xxx finish
shall get her wet tomorrow
thanks to the boys at SHQ sunny coast.
Vapor.... wow, you went deep on that!
Interesting, I am curious to hear how it compares.
Your 8'11 SP25 will will seem giant after this... save that for when you get really old like me, when bigger is ok some days!

Yes - talked to Scotty at Smik for a custom and had a choice of 8'10" @ 130 ltrs OR a 9'0" @ 135 ltrs - I am 73 years old and the lightest I have been in 15 years, so I am probably going to get heavier and Definitly older, so have taken the 9 foot option at 31 and five eights wide!
