A little clip from Chappo Productions of the PaddlePop in action...

Well done mate! good demo

Finally, in regards of both lows and highs from each others Minion or Paddle Pop, what do you like in first

They are both great and very similar except the PaddlePop has slightly less flat planing speed but is a little more forgiving in and around the pocket (maybe less sharp edges to catch). I think the PaddlePop is a bit smoother through turns too.

I ride the PaddlePop for 90% of my surfs and the Minion 5% since I've had both. That should give you some indication of my preference.

Yeah but that is the 'New Board Affect…you get a new board and you just want to ride that and explore new sensations and possibilities. I have suffered this phenomena for years and it keeps happening every time I get a new snowboard, windsurf board, and SUP board…this is how you end up with a garage full of boards and you keep telling yourself you have a 'quiver'…but in reality you have a pile of boards that you will not ride very often as you always want to be on the new one. This is how board brands make money but the way.

I had a 9'5 Niash Mana then got a 9' Naish Hokua then stopped riding the Mana. Then I got a 8'5 LSD and stopped riding the Hokua so sold it. Then I got a 8'5 Fanatic Prowave and stopped riding the LSD. Then I got a Deep Minion and stopped riding the Fanatic. And so it continues...

Can you order a Paddlepop in a 104L size or are they still sub-100L custom boards?

Yeah, I know that phenomenon!

You can get a PaddlePop in any volume - that's the beauty of Australian made customs.

Casso - I know its kind of a hassle but would it be possible to get the nose and tail measurements for the PaddlePop please? I'm thinking 12" back from the nose and tail and then the full width right at the tail from the two little points. Thank you.

Great vid Casso.

I think the great thing is that Deep boards are brilliant whether you ride a minion or Paddlepop..

Both boards look great in the water.

12" from the nose = pretty wide
12" form the tail = not as quite as wide as the Minion

I could give you more exact dimensions, but then I'd have to kill you.

I get the feeling that with the board fully submerged it may struggle to the surface for breath resulting in Casso doing some unintended aqua yoga

Hey Casso,

I have a demo Paddle Pop here in Auckland, NZ and want to know what the volume is???: 7'4 x 27" x 4"

I took it out in flat water and it was pretty stable as I assume it is about 97L and I am 85kg. It feels different than the Minion. Can't wait to surf it...

There may have been a slight possibility of that happening. Luckily I only had 10 seconds to play through Instagram so what happened after will remain a mystery.

Great stuff Stevo. Glad to see the PaddlePop has crossed the Tasman.

I'm not sure of the volume of those dimensions but 97L sounds about right - maybe a fraction less.

Be prepared for some super fun waves - just like the Minion but better (smoother and more predicable). I really like a quad set up with a Darc Drive trailer in these.

For the 7'4" or the 10'0"? Actually doesn't matter - I think I'll run the same in both: Pancho Futures in the front, Shapers Stealth SX rear quads in the back and a Darc Drive trailer on the tail.

I think with the big nose concave and deep double concave in the tail the effective rocker will be perfect. All a bit of an experiment but I'm very much anticipating it to be a cracker.

So.... it must have been wet by now. Is it a cracker - or a soggy biscuit?

Ummmmm - maybe not

But I reckon it'd go great in the super solid stuff. A few reefs around home might get a look in.
