Bought this Naish Nalu 11'4" x 30" today. Retailer didn't know the year. Does anyone know the year?
Thanks!
It looks like a 2009-2010 model (didn't change design?), re-gripped.
Session is right though, you will love it!
I have the 2014 GT version.......this is one board I reckon I will keep till it dies. Do all type of board....except barrels
We bought the 2009 single fin AST cheap from a well known SUP retailer on the northern Goldy and absolutly love it, works well in most surf but relishes in the peeling waves at Greenmount where we are for a couple of weeks, its strapped to the roof of the car, and dont both taking it off at night, cause I know its my go to board up here.......get to no the nose and you wont look back
I have my order in for one of these to replace my (soon to be sold) 10'6" Nalu.. Can't wait.. .. btw I really miss my old 11'4" Nalu.
They are such versatile boards - great rocker line. Amazingly stable and the pintail is brilliant. I bought mine a while back thinking I would only take it out on tiny or flat days - I've only surfed my 8ft 8 once since I have had this 11 4. It took a while to get used to - the more trad longboard style and I still get caught out now and again trying to turn it too fast....but foot on the tail and it pivots great.
I assume your talking about 2015 Nalu DJ? Are you changing size or getting another 10'6?
The board in that vid looks to be carbon. Will that be an option on the 2015 models?

It was hard to sell my 10'6" Nalu because it's such a good board.. but I've gone for a new Naish Nalu for 2015 that's 11' x 31" wide..
I've heard it's awesome and it's the same as the one Robby is using in that river waves vid.. and I've gone for the GT construction..
It does look like it has a brushed carbon finish.. I should have mine in a week or two.
No idea why they needed to go to 31 inches......if they have changed it a fair bit design wise then maybe but if not that is a step backward IMHO. The current 114 is amazingly stable already, good to paddle and importantly fun on a wave...big and small.
Going wider doesn't sound a good thing to me. I had a 31.5 wide longboard before and it just wasn't a versatile as the current 11 4. I do hope it ain't the demise of a cracking board just to make newbies feel more confident. (Obviously I know you ain't a newbie DJ)
I thought 31 wide sounded a bit much as well, but then I noticed that the 10'10" in the lineup is 32 wide. So I'm guessing that the new 11'0 might be a replacement for current 10'10", in which case it will actually be an inch narrower. It sounds like the range of lengths is going to change with the 2015 lineup. Hopefully they will re-introduce some sub 10' boards again. It would also be cool if they developed more of a performance based, lower volume range that sat along side the standard to wider boards in the range.

Hope not, the 10 10 is a totally diff board. the beauty of the current 11 4 is that you get a very versatile board that caters for new people but also surfs great for those with experience. The new 11 fter will probably be fine but unless they keep volume down it will be a bit of a tank. Here is hoping!
Pretty sure the 11'4" Nalu and 10'10" Nalu will not change and the new 11' Nalu will be a completely new and different board.. and it will be a performance surfing board rather than a beginers board.. I've heard that even though it's 31" wide it's is very thin throughout with thin rails and it looks pretty pinny in the tail from what I can see in Robby's river surfing vid.. I'm glad they went to 31" wide because I found my 10'6" x 30" Nalu a little tippy in confused water.. The new 11' x 31" should be perfect for me.. I've owned two 11'4"s in the past and IMO the new shape 10'6" surfed so much better so I'm hoping the new 11' Nalu will give me a bigger and more stable board than the 10'6" but still surf as good as the 10'6".. I should know soon.. If I don't like it or I think it's too wide I'll sell it and buy another 10'6" Nalu.. But I have a feeling I'm going to be very happy with the new 11' Nalu.. Has anyone here surfed or paddled one yet?
The 11 sounds interesting and Robie is definitely chucking it around in that vid. I've got the 10.65 as well, but would be tempted by a board with more length if performance was similar. Any idea what the volume is?

Your on the money DJ
I just had a look at the new 11'x31" GT
The deck is wood under yellow & the bottom looks unreal.
I think the 10'6" would be better ?
