Roger, I think its the GoPro Wide camera. Google it. Some surf/sail stores are starting to stock them now.

Good job Casso, I think I liked that better than day one! Looking forward to tonight!

If you were having problems accessing last night's "Little River" in high definition, then try this version:

This movie is available in high definition
(start playing the movie, then rollover the button, then click the button)

I'm not sure of the issue with the first one - a YouTube anomaly, I suppose.

What's the best camera to achieve footage like this - ok I know you need a competent SUPper too!

I use the GoPro Wide on my home made SuckerCam mount:

I use this for both the board and paddle shots.

And here is tonight's episode:

"Carbon Copy" (G)
As the tide drops to its afternoon low, Casso heads back to the point to score some more of those long peelers. Just like Groundhog day, the conditions at A-Bay are the same as yesterday and the waves are just as much fun.
Starring: Casso, Woody, Mr Methane, Silverchair.
Duration: 4 mins 43 secs

I've actually never hit with my paddle. I've fallen onto it a couple of times and rolled it into the shorey once (which snapped it off the mount - but now it's fixed, better and stronger than ever).

The bloopers reel would be way longer than YouTube's 10 min limit.

Here we have movie number four. I really like this one ...

" The Tiger " (MA 15+)
Due to a slight decrease in swell, Casso dusts off his 11 footer (The Tiger) and hits the point at A-Bay. Anticipating some gentle peelers so he can work on his traditional longboarding moves - Casso is greeted with exceptionally long rides which are perfect for his chosen equipment and surf style.
Starring: Casso, The Tiger, Mr Methane, Ben Lee.
Duration: 3 mins 20 secs

Here is anothery ...

Pretty amazing, this one - the longest wave I've ever caught ... and I got it camera.

"Single" (PG)
Quite a long movie at a bit over three minutes, yet just a single wave! No special effects or hidden edits - one take, one wave. A little boring but intriguing none-the-less.
Starring: Casso, The Tiger, Mr Methane, Alex Lloyd.
Duration: 3 mins 06 secs

After a couple of weeks away up the coast with the family in the caravan, I've collected a plethora of SuckerCam footage. Some of it's not too bad. What I'm going to do is run a little movie festival with some of the better material.

I'm calling it Casso's Summer Holiday SUP Movie Festival and it'll run each night at 8:30pm (Australian Eastern Daylight Time) - with a different movie each night.

Here is the program for the festival:

"Day One" (M)
After a long trip in the car, then endless setting up of the caravan and accompanying annex on one of the hottest days of the year, all Casso wants to do is hit the waves. By mid afternoon his plans come to fruition and he heads out to the point at A-Bay (not its real name) to find consistent lines of perfect two footers wrapping down the point for hundreds of metres. With not many out, a light off-shore blowing, the sun shining, beautiful clear, warm water and not a care in the world, Casso thinks he has found SUP'ers Paradise and heads out for a handful of fun ones. Check out the two and a half minute ride towards the end.
Starring: Casso, Woody, Mr Methane, Jet.
Duration: 8 mins 25 secs
Screening: Thursday 29 Jan 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

"Little River" (PG)
Looking for a little more punch in the waves during the morning's high tide, Casso heads to a little river mouth in search of something to bury his rail into. Small, a little bumpy but fun left and right handers greet him on his arrival. He is out there in a flash, gets a few nice ones with nobody else out - all before breakfast.
Starring: Casso, Woody, Mr Methane, GANGgajang.
Duration: 2 mins 38 secs
Screening: Friday 30 Jan 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

"Carbon Copy" (G)
As the tide drops to its afternoon low, Casso heads back to the point to score some more of those long peelers. Just like Groundhog day, the conditions at A-Bay are the same as yesterday and the waves are just as much fun.
Starring: Casso, Woody, Mr Methane, Silverchair.
Duration: 4 mins 43 secs
Screening: Saturday 31 Jan 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

"The Tiger" (MA 15+)
Due to a slight decrease in swell, Casso dusts off his 11 footer (The Tiger) and hits the point at A-Bay. Anticipating some gentle peelers so he can work on his traditional longboarding moves - Casso is greeted with exceptionally long rides which are perfect for his chosen equipment and surf style.
Starring: Casso, The Tiger, Mr Methane, Ben Lee.
Duration: 3 mins 20 secs
Screening: Sunday 1 Feb 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

"Single" (PG)
Quite a long movie at a bit over three minutes, yet just a single wave! No special effects or hidden edits - one take, one wave. A little boring but intriguing none-the-less.
Starring: Casso, The Tiger, Mr Methane, Alex Lloyd.
Duration: 3 mins 06 secs
Screening: Monday 2 Feb 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

"Sunrise" (G)
Looking to beat the crowds and catch the low tide, Casso gets up at 5:30am and is presented with a beautiful sunrise and few fun waves to boot.
Starring: Casso, Woody, Mr Methane, Pete Murray.
Duration: 4 mins 02 secs
Screening: Tuesday 3 Feb 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

"Alone" (MA 15+)
All alone for the early session at A-Bay. It gets a little creepy surfing by yourself at dawn, in deep, dark water, with lots of fish, stingrays, turtles and who knows what else. Don't fall off and your chances of getting home in one piece are greatly increased - so going by Casso's dry-hair-bed-head until the last wave of the session, indicates his appreciation for this theory.
Starring: Casso, Woody, Mr Methane, Midnight Oil.
Duration: 4 mins 03 secs
Screening: Wednesday 4 Feb 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

"Rock Wedge" (M)
Casso discovers a special rock formation in the middle of the beach which has a sneaky right hander wedging up and running along its side. Surfing frighteningly close to the barnacle encrusted, vertical wall of rock, Casso puts his life and his Naish on the line to catch a few.
Starring: Casso, Woody, Mr Methane, Jet.
Duration: 1 mins 59 secs
Screening: Thursday 5 Feb 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

"Down Hill" (G)
Too lazy to carry his 11 footer down to the beach, silly Casso tries to do a little down hill run on his performance shortboard during a 25 knot on-shore breeze. In a comedy of errors, Casso ends up getting stung by a bluebottle, gets sunburned, hurts his lower back and has his SuckerCam come unsucked while on one of the better runners.
Starring: Silly Casso, Woody, Mr Methane, PUC.
Duration: 2 mins 55 secs
Screening: Friday 6 Feb 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

"Cloud Control" (M)
On a cloudy yet warm day, Casso heads to Tiny Beach (not its real name) for some punchier waves. Dealing with lots of wind chop and bounce off the rocks, he manages to stay upright for long enough to snag a couple of rideable ones.
Starring: Casso, Woody, Mr Methane, Midnight Oil.
Duration: 4 mins 55 secs
Screening: Saturday 7 Feb 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

"The Sundance Kid" (G)
With the end of the holiday encroaching fast, a desperate Casso heads out the point at A-Bay one more time. Lovely conditions overrule the lack of swell and he has a fun time before the big pack up and long drive home the next morning.
Starring: Casso, Woody, Mr Methane, Pete Murray.
Duration: 7 mins 32 secs
Screening: Sunday 8 Feb 09 - 8:30pm (AEDT)

I'll post the movies into this thread when they are scheduled, so tune in each night and enjoy the show(s).

Important Note: I've made an agreement with some of the locals in this little town (only one local with a SUP) not to disclose its exact location nor give any real names of the beaches surfed. If you don't know where it is, please don't ask. If you do know where it is, please don't tell.

Sounds intriguing - I'll be in any expedition to a secret spot.

No problems with the GoPro at all yet. Except the when it shorted itself out after only 15 mins out of the box on the first day. My reseller had a new one to me via Express Post within two days though.
