Good photos beersup,
now for a few questions etc.
have either you or smitty ridden a minion to compare it?
the dunny door is really wide at 75cm (29 1/2"), especially for its length, and wondering how this affects it's ability to bite at speed?
The dunny door also seems to have a pretty flat bottom in the nose - does it catch waves well?
it seems to also have a lot of foam in the swallow tail - does this affect the tail rail biting thru turns?
there's a start!
cheers
Thanks Tang, haven't ridden a minion and for 1800 hungie for 7 odd foot of epoxy don't think I want to
no offence just bit pricey for me , I am vertically challenged 5 '10 but make up for that with amble beer induced resting muscle 97kgs also my main spot is a point break with heavy backwash when bigger so foam is my friend, I have no trouble putting it on rail. I don't have any trouble catching waves especially on windy days its short length doesn't get caught up in the wind allowing for a quick entry and have never came close to nose diving yet. I have had other boards (a Coreban) with a wide tail and it did have trouble as you say bitting but with this board no dramas not sure why maybe its the flex tail. The flex tail is made up with a separate rubber block attached to a thin section of the board and makes it feel alive. When I first saw this shape I called hoax with all the question you are asking I just thought what a dog of a thing. Then I rode one and said F%$# I want one, it is the fastest most manoeuvrable sup I have ridden. Hope I answered you questions Tang

Hey Tang
My first turn on one of these boards was a 7'3 Gulliver shaped by Azza. It was a bit hard to balance on but on a wave it was fast and turned easily.
I have not tried a minion but I saw a few at the Aussie titles. Casso and I had a couple of (door off) heats together.
I rode the starboard 8'0 pro for a while but when I got on the 6'8 fridge door the starboard started to collect dust.
I am 98 to 100 kg like beerssup and find this board sooo stable.
I am no longer doing dish pan turns and I am surfing much more on rail. The harder you push these boards the better they go.
No troubles paddling in and as you can see by my photo's at the start of this topic, the board loves being on a rail.
After a couple of surfs you don't really feel the width in the tail.
Hope this helps.
P.S. do you know anyone who wants to buy a starboard??
