Great pics - and a great part of the world. Reminds me of one of the warmer days when we were over for the cold water classic a hundred years ago. Longboard nirvana

Sure, No worries

Just about to load todays pics, Went for a surf with standupper and i went ok

Managed to paddle straight out ok, Ballance was fine but turning was ****.
I did catch 3 waves while standing, The rest i was on my knees and then stood up.

I was tired after a hour and was shaking in my legs so i guess i might of over done it on the 5k paddle.

I guess i have 0 paddle fitness this may be the problem.

Here is some of today photos

Nice shots of the Pier

I'm going to be back in Chch in August - not sure if I'll be sticking my toes in the water though. Might be keen on some Kaikoura action if the sun comes out

Lovin it more each time, Even though my body is saying what the heck

I need to find a sweet spot on the naish, I tend to get on the tail as i would with a longboard, More hours should take care of this i think

Also i think if the board had more of a flat section through the middle this would take care of the wobble from side shop.

Then again, More hours on the board

The 9'5" turns fine bro - you will get the hang of it. Put the fin as far forward as you can and put your foot right over the two side fins when turning. You will find it does a lot more than you think. Do not forget to use the paddle when turning - makes a massive difference.

Post some pics of Taylors please - or do u never bother with the drive over the hill? Is that pub still still there at Summner with the big lion red sign? Had a few good sessions there in the good old days. Miss it. Hows the snow at Craigiburn this winter? Wicked spot.

Hi, taylors hmmm not often at all, sumner is perfect for sup esp when learnng.
The wave is slow and re forms most of the time so good for long rides

The pub you ask about, No it is now a bunch of apartments

Snow is good, I have not been up as yet

I will try the back fin right foward, Will this take away some stability while on the paddle?

Yea, that pub was great as a young fella i often camped there after surfing and then went out in the morning, Had to catch the bus with my board to sumner and got to become good friends with the owner so camped there when i wanted to.

And always good for a sat night trying to pick up the wahine
