I have an ergo-T extendable handle and have gently scored position marks into it with a nail file, so I can adjust the length - shorter for race, longer for cruise.
Thanks guys. It looks like a lot of variation out there. I'm doing the Narrabeen downwinder today so will have a look at what the other guys are using length wise.
Mind you , I think Kai Lenny will find himself in a sidewinder out there today. It's looking like the wind will on shore the whole race.
The Molokai is incredibly powerful....particularly with the 100 flex Elite shaft.
I couldn't think of a better paddle for sprint racing
When you guys measure the paddle, e.g 2-3 inches above head, is that the end of the shaft or the blade and shaft. Also will shortening your paddle reduce shoulder pain after long intense sessions?
IMO the longer your shaft the better ;) -> More reach = less strokes.
However there is always the point where you will go too long and cause potential long term shoulder injuries.
Took delivery of my Wiki/60 shaft/Xtend T handle the other week and loving it !!
Been surfing hard since and the tennis elbow is almost non existant unless I'm in heavy wind and the form goes out the window.
Heaps of power from the shaft and sling shots you into the wave. Also the smaller blade is a lot easier to use in any wind which seams to be most of the time....
Highly rated!!
Geez Im still getting over the 27.30 for a 4.2k loop myself. Best of our guys on a 14 did a 31 the other day for about a 4.5 loop.
Merry Christmas to all the Ke Nalu paddlers out there
Hope you score plenty of hours on the water over the holiday period!!
Hi all,
I'm looking to invest in a great paddle.
I need a small paddle for DW and, yes, I've got dodge shoulders too.
I've got a DC17.
It would be awesome if I could DEMO one of the Wiki paddles.
Anyone know where I can do this?
I'm in Brisbane.
Cheers!
Go on the Ke Nalu Australia website it lists all the sellers. However, I am sure BrisKites is the dealer in Brisbane.
Good luck.
ET.
Hey pyeman, if you come up to the sunny coast on Thursday (Kawana lake time trials), I've got the KeNalu's for Demo :)
Cheers Jonesy
We have Demo Paddles in Brisbane. Jut let us know when your coming in so we can make sure they are available.
Hi pyeman
Let us know what you think if you do demo the KeNalus. I am about your size and will get a KeNalu later this year. Just curious as to weather you find the Wiki the right size blade or if you would consider Maliko too much blade.
Cheers
