yep
Great edit, sick barrels, but...... Deep breath and flame suit on but; I find the wishy washy top turns - flicky pretend airs and tail slides aka dish pans - ugly.

That top one is a great shot
Each to his own hilly.
Personally the middle pic doesn't do anything for me. Boring boring boring.
However the bottom picture is awesome. He really has buried the paddle on that one. I wonder how many litres the board is... man is it short too.
Must be one of those new low volume pro models.
Here is picture I found when I did a internet. His board is so small that he probably can't stand up and paddle it.
He doesn't ever bother to get up when he catches a wave. He buried that rail so deep that when he pulled it out they called him King Arthur.
Nice shot. Shows you do not need fins to bury a rail.
Or should that be fins in the board straight or towed

I agree hilly I think it's a issue that if addressed can only help and he has asked previously in the past for comments
Hilly/Towny fair call it's a public forum and it's worth discussing..I've just come back from Fiji for 3 weeks with Deems filming Keahi and all the crew in some epic waves , so here's my take on this video.
What you can't see in this clip is the action in front of Keahi , it's an Indo racey shallow reef break . If you did a full rail to rail cutback and back off the foam ball it would be your last turn and then a bumpy scaring trip across the shallow reef. Keahi is the ultimate barrel hunter and stays in the top third of the wave hunting for the shack , that's why they are short sharp turns keeping his speed. He makes it look all so easy , he seems to always have the speed to make around and over the sections falling in front of him. Myself and most punters would not have made most of those waves.
As far as calling them pretend airs , well whats that ? an Air is an Air. The only time my fins are free from the wave is when my board is on the roof of my car. sure you can post pics of ngarly turns but put up the video of the rest of the wave and see how it compares. What else would like to see in these waves in this video , if I was a judge they were very complete high scoring waves. Trust me when the waves right Keahi does serious super vert re-entries and rail driving turns. But you are going to have to wait for the release of "Living The Stoke 2" to see that.
For the record he is riding the new JP production board 7-4 x 27.
I never said he don't surf good ,the kid rips, but imagine if he buried his back foot.
It just ain't just in this video, he has asked for comments previously Piros, that is how the dishpan nickname came about.
I look forward to the living Stoke 2 prove me wrong, I'm not being nasty here Piros but if Keahi started using his back foot like Dogman he would be on the sup tour giving the top guys hell all the time. Flame suit on..
All good Towny and for the record Keahi is the originator of the term "Dishpan" Woogie gave him the name because he used to wash dishes at the Noosa Surf Club and it translated to his Sup surfing style so yes Keahi is official the Dishpan King. but I hear what you are saying and understand where your comments come from , no need for the flame suit
This kid rips I'm not a fan of the so called dish pan,I understand what Piros is saying washing some speed off, but fk he is one hell of a surfer, great video and farking unreal surfing
ive bn travelling to this island & surfing it for the last 15-18yrs+ & even on a shortie the only way to fully lay rail on that first second on the right hander is to full grab rail dump everything u've got & lay it down & still u'll only get 3/4 of the way back around cause of the way the wave bends ,ive even surfed it with JO'B & he could only do the same!! SO FULL KUDO'S TO U CHAMP!!...

All good I remember the start of the nickname, dishpan term years ago, but if that was my nickname id be changing jobs or style to lose the term as it ain't really a compliment to your surfing

This was a while ago if you are interested www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/SUP/North-West-Trip/
Piros it is the little flicks at the top of the wave that I mean by pretend airs. Just my opinion. Like arseholes everyone has one

That sick pick has been used before the point out the difference between short board and sup , well as sick as that pic is looks like one big tail slide to me < not a whole lot of rail being buried. Id imagine it would be much easier to bury a rail on a thin shortboard compared to a sup too.Ill admit he does tail slide a lot , but sups are like that rails to thick and arses to wide?
Look at the water being displaced ^^^^ that ain't no tail slide, google Pancho Sullivan for more man hacks
