He is having a great year , been the best paddler out their for a few years i rekon.doesent seem to get the same exposure as connor kai and danny , but he clearly has their measure.
hows the time with no wind the year before trav did 4;09.15 that was 5 min behind conner record which i think was still a record this year 4;59 thats a lot of water in front of you that time .boys were still partying hard drinks on the bar not sure who was paying think NSP could be a big tab with the Aussies in the bar
Haha, yeah... Not faster than an OC1 with Travis on it... I should have said Travis said he was paddling with 1 mans on the Hawaii Kai run and passing them.. I am assuming they were paddled by humans, not super humans like Travis, Danny and co. Either way Travis was also shocked:
I spoke to Dale to try to get in and see him about a new unlimited. Unfortunately he was leaving on that day to head over to Hawaii...
Jeez, i hope given this win that the price doesn't go up - but if it does, i hope he remembers that i called him BEFORE he left!!
I took the only aussie travis nsp board for a run in light winds today. over all the time against my 14 was about the same except I had a higher top speed and its a easier paddled
that pretty impressive in its self . most other unlimited are very limited in light winds.
the feeling and agility of the board is very good and it very easy to steer the board around without rudder use.
I started with unlimited boards. my first board was an old Kelly margetts dc 16.
will be good to see the unlimited scene fire up again
On ya Phil well done mate. You have actually got me motivated so myself Ross Hassum & Brett Williams are putting in a 3 man team next year . It's been 25 years since I first paddled across the channel. I sent you a PM give me a call when you can.
Hey Pete Clarky is keen for a team as well and looks like you will see a few more unlimited boards floating around the Goldie next few weeks. Can't wait to see your new one.
Looks the way to beat the arms race and massive price spikes.
Get a good unlimited and be done and dusted
So are there any specs on this board? i notice it is 17'10 and Travis' version is 24.5in... but i saw something that stated there would be another width available? does anyone know what that would be?
Looking forward to next years 3 Man Team Challenge, I'll be coming back fitter and stronger next year means I'll be more thirstier at the finish line
Bring On The Beers.
With DC shaping and Dolphin, there will be some great locally made boards.
I will see about the category for 12 Towers. then there's the W.A. races and Cairns in June.
Then off to Hawaii
Yeah I reckon you'll see the 2 big races in west aus getting more and more unlimiteds. If they weren't our qualifiers for the Nationals I'd be on a big board for sure. Those two races are perfect for unlimiteds.
