Minus 1 Helmy...
Minus 1/2 Noz
Your beers are chilling.........
Saturday.
Photos are going to post out of order.
Balmoral Boards /Sunova Beach to Bar Race.
And other stuff.
They seem to have posted in order after all!
Balmoral / Sunova / Whatever / Bop Sunday
Morning paddle on JM 17'6"on the inlet.
Bacon and egg rolls from the BBQ, cool cars...
and bikes...
Woops, the race is halfway through the first lap...
What a great week / weekend.
I came up confident I was immune from the lures of the incredible number of demo boards available to try.
No way would anything tempt me to try and surf in 4' shore break with 15 knot cross wind and wind chop.
I may have taken a board for a demo paddle, but no way would I walk it 1km upwind to try it in shelter, then downwind it back to the beach and re visit the shore break.
No way would I put down a deposit and order a custom colour scheme and logos, I'm not that gullible.
Thank you to Merimbula Sailboard Club, AA from Balmoral, Sunova, other sponsors, Grub at Kerry's bar, the blokes on the BBQ, and everyone else involved in the best week of the year!
Only 361 days until the next one.
Good times and good vibes! On and off the water!

Great pics and details. Thanks for sharing Nozza. This entire thread carries so much stoke and great vibes.
Curious about the board there's "no way" you ordered. Any more details? (I didn't even know PSH had demo boards down there. )

PSH only there in spirit unfortunately, although there was a PSH sticker on Balmoral's trailer....
Only demo board there as far as I know was one of my 12' Guns.
It got an outing in the surf on the bar (1' high and pumping).
And a couple of outings in self converted "Gundawindy" mode.
Board I took for a demmo, took for a walk, paddled up the inlet and out the entrance, over the bar, and back down to the main Beach, then ordered was a 12' Sunova Search from AA, with custom colour scheme.
Sort of a more modern version of my board.
Thanks mate. More great pics. And yes, those Sunova Searches look great. Nice to have something in the quiver than can cruise flatwater, ride ripples, and still surfs quite nicely if a real wave pops up. I think I'd like one too. And one of those houses in the background of those pics of yours.

The Search a bit more attainable than the houses, price wise
If you managed to catch the Mambo doco on the ABC the other night you would have seen a few of the old windsurfing event t-shirt designs.
Three legged dog and Jacques Chirac were pretty prominent on the show.
Some old Mambo shirts about on MSC members.
Anyone paddle the Coreban with all the fins? What's the idea behind that.
It's a 2012 maybe Coreban Turbo 14.
Beautifully made carbon board, fairly tippy.
It doesn't see a lot of use, but is fun for a bit of a laugh.
Extra fins I think are to add some stability.
It's straight line sprinting only.
I gave it a try in fairly windy, choppy conditions.
Windage on the nose was significant, impossible to turn without getting back and lifting the nose.
Helmy gave it a try in more suitable conditions.
Looks like he's standing on a vintage speed boat.
More here
thanks. I remember now. Thought they might have been at it again. This is what happens when you get a highly over paid naval architect to design something he knows nothing about. Look at the wake coming of that thing, you could surf it.
Great posts it looks like it was an awesome event.
