The dirty 2nd .. Wow.. 32 years in a row I've driven 8 hours to be a part of the Merimbula Classic and I'm sure that after checking out my pictures you will under stand why.

Two boards and a bike.. My 12'6" Glide.. my 10'6" Nalu.. and my new Fat Bike.
First stop was Cann River for a pie.
Once at Eden I know I'm almost there.
There at last.
I drove down to check out the beach and I spotted this giant mouse.
Are YOU looking at ME?
I first checked out the Pambula end of the beach.
Pambula river mouth.. What a beautiful spot.
Driving out of Pambula there is always kangaroos everywhere.
In one end.. and out the other.
Ooh look.. Maltesers.
Back to Merimbula lake/inlet.
Back at Merimbula main beach.
Nothing better than a week of southern comfort.. up north.. I've stayed at this place for most of the 32 years that i've been coming here.
Now to unload.
Once unlacked and my bike was back together I did a quick ride before it got dark.
It's a beautiful spot with a surf beach one side and flat water inlet on the other side... I'll sleep well tonight.

Day one in Merimbula (Tue 20th Nov) I went for a quick ride into town to buy a few things from the supermarket and stock up my little fridge.
First stop was to say hi to Simon in the local surf shop.
Then it was back to get my board and hit the water... and take some pictures.
That's day one done and dusted.. The Merimbula classic is a four day event (thursday to sunday) and people are staring to arrive.. It's going to be huge.

Wednesday 21st and another beautiful day in Merimbula.. Spent the morning riding my fat bike along the boardwalk till I saw a sign that said no bikes.. Oops.. Then through town and over to Short Point where I saw a whale broach right in front of me about 300 mtrs away and so close to the rocks off the end of the point.. My camera was in my pocket.. The splash and spray was huge.. I then rode back for lunch and hit the water again with my 12'6".. Soaked up the sun at the Bar beach and caught some waves at the Bar.. Paddled up past the aquarium again and the water was an amazing colour.. Took some pics that I hope I can post soon.. Late arvo the wind changed from NE to a cold SE and the temp dropped as the clouds came in.. The kiters hit the water and the onshore wind has brought the swell up.. Looking good for tomorrow.. and the next few days..

Loved the pics. I'm spewing I can't make it this year, I'm out with injury.
Hope you all have a ball.
Just herd that DC was very fatigued after the long drive and had to go to the massage tent as soon as he arrived.
I've got heaps of pics to post from the last few day and I'll wait till I get home to upload them because internet speed here is worse than dial up speed.
Here's a few pics from todays ride down the beach to Pambula and back.. Love'in that bike..

Well I know where to get all my SUP gear, but where in Aus can you get a fat bike? I have been hunting for ages!! how much did that beast set you back?
Day 2 started with my friend Kathy picking up her new 12'6" Walk on Water board.
I got my 12'6" Glide out and hit the water and paddled over to the Bar beach to catch up with Kathy and Anne.
A couple of young girls paddled over demo'ing a couple of new JP boards.. Shame there was no waves.
There was a small ankle high wave breaking at the Bar and this pic shows it.
When my good view left (both of them) I decided to hit the water again and catch some of those ankle high waves.
Alain joined me and he was demo'ing the new Starboard Sprint.
The waves soon dissapeared compleatly so I went for a flat water cruise.. A couple of local girls were demo'ing the new Starboard 12'6" and 14' AllStar boards.
More guys demo'ing boards.
Back at the main contest area you can see the wind has picked up enough for the windsurfers to hit the water.. Most were windsurfing sup's.
Here's some stickers from this years event.. and some more gear from the expo.
