sup racer just shared with the world the epic NYE down winder dale got in moreton bay!
Travis grant will be on the next plane over for sure.
Northerlies have hit. friday and saturday looking epic for a northside run Scarborough/redcliffe to sandgate. 16km
Hopefully wind kicks in early as big storms in arvo predicted which will kill all wind fingers crossed storms come late
Ill be in the water by 1pm friday hopefully to jump
On the conveyor bump belt.
What really needs to happen is to find a cranking ne wind bay run for sept to aug.
On the southside of course
Done.
Straddie back to mainland up in the redlands area
Im keen!
Lacey this northside run redcliffe down to sandgate on its day north north west wind is on par with south side se runs.
Its got a good mix of deep water for a few km then drops into shallow water. One bonus is bumps all the way to the beach at the end as its not wind protected at all.
Southern tip of bribie all the way to sandgate would be even better and about 30km
Hey we did that one. But the guy who planned it got it wrong a bit. He had us to vic pt.
Paddling on one side to get there. Redlands would be good.
Just about surfing off the peel island banks.
Near coohie was awesome.
I think about the bay is you have to get the direction right.
Things slow down a real lot if you have to cut

What about Bribie Bridge back to Nudgee? How far would that be? Got to bear in mind that what most people call a North Easter in Spring is usually closer to dead North. Especially when it really blows..
Hi Guys
I am keen to get involved. Can someone please let me know when the next run is? There is some Northerly's coming over the next few days

If I'm going that far north I may as well take my surfboard (f##k going Downwind) and go Surf North Stradbroke it be off shore on a North Easter.
Why not.
Surf in the morning.
Dw in the arvo out of there
Time we did it the wind didnt come and it wasnt even quite 15 knots but for what it was not bad at all.
Long way to travel for the bribie run but i reckon that water on a 30 knot northerly
Bribie to nudgee would be the best run you could get. Easy 30km flounder. Solid day traveling though haha
Car driver with trailer would make it doable

Mate the tides all wrong.
There will be no water
Some of us have been looking at another course but its 50 ks and some more homework needs to be done.
OK I see, I just found out as I'm not in the click.
Yes it's low tide at 1:43PM
I see, you need a High tide around midday or after to Downwind in Morton Day. (fickle) Oh well Maliko in 4 months STOKED Downwind all day everyday.
I'll do a Snapper to Nth Burleigh run on Friday then the ocean never lets you down.

yeah while it a awesome run its tidal and need lots of wind in the bay.
if Friday goes nuts and the swell is too big there has been some action in the broadwater apparently .
I saw some footage on fb. sundale up to paradise point.
keen to see if it does it.
25 knts should be enough
Friday isn't a no go yet.. High tide is morning 07:30 to 8:00 it really just depends if theres wind overnight into the morning. or do a late friday arvo run finishing at 7pm before sun goes down. though I can't do that late this Friday.
could easily be putting in at Cleveland around the high tide time in the morning. (given there is 20knots of wind early on)
Note: Often the bay isn't windy until lunch time but long range on the BOM site says winds increasing 25 knots thurs night sometimes that wind holds through the night and keeps going in the morning.
the last couple runs you GC guys have done up here we haven't started until after high tide.
The good thing about Moreton bay is theres the northside too.
I know to far for you GC guys to drive but a Pinkenba north side of brissy river mouth to redcliffe can be run in dead low tide as its deep from the river mouth right to one of the beaches in redcliffe or deep access boat ramp at clontarf woody point. or into the mouth of pine river to finish at brighton if its very South East wind.
This northside run I actually love on low tide it seems to be nice and clean straight bumps and you go over some sandbanks that stand up and run for days.
The drive isn't much longer either its only 30 mins from gateway to redcliffe in normal traffic at worse. then 35 minutes back to launch spot at the mouth of the river.
its 15k as below on first map. but to woody point its been 17k every time ive done it. if very south wind I would push up to scarborough and make it a 25km run.

like the looks of those.
time frames is the prob. well over 5 hrs driving around
Dunwich to woody point is a mega run. long time paddling
Yep LL i personally have done these runs many times and rate them so much.
Yes drive time for u guys makes it a whole day affair even with mini van and trailer.
Shame the wind is so fickle in qld if solid weeks worth of SE winds were forecast and guaranteed like maui, it would be easily worth taking a week from work off and crashing on our couches etc to do back to back to back runs in moteton bay.
Lacey,
we shall be doing the Broadwater run (12 klm) Friday and maybe a back to back run
I have a new trailer can hold 16 boards so no issues with transport if any others want to jump in.

I'll put my hand up supsurfers if you have a spare seat, plus a back to back run sounds good, I'll chip in for fuel.
A Broadwater run, Mmm now thats different.

cool
I am picking up someone around 10am at brisbane airport saturday with boards on the roof. So would be good to go direct after that to paddle a port of brisbane /Woody point
Is it ok for the tide?
Anyone going?
Al hide tide around 9-10 so perfect mate. As long as there is 20kn of wind by then
Do you want directions on where to put in at mouth of the river. Theres a road you can drive up and park on vacant dirt land thats basically 200/300m before the end of the river mouth.

Yes that would be very helpful thank you. I will struggle to follow the pace so the less distance to paddle the better hahaha
