Just got back from a trip up north. Had a few paddles around Kalbarri. Sorry did not get video of any clean days this is blowing 20 knots plus. I am on the wife's Starboard 9 8 with big single fin so the surfing is less than stellar. Thanks to Jason for the videoing and the other supper is Kim. Anyone who knows Jakes would realise it is not easy and it was nice having a bit of company in the water.
Hilly,
Luvvin ya work in that wind, wishing we had the size and the defined peak wipes drool out of keyboard!
I agree the camera man lost focus a little but I aint complaining
Adds Jakes to the list of places to sup before I die!

Hilly that is awesome! Any thoughts on the 9'6 ripper on the trip?
I'm having a love hate with the 9'6 wide AA. This morning all the "Jerry Lewis" crew were having a ball in small but perfect conditions at 2nds.I on the other hand was floundering for an hour and a half.Would have fallen off 30 times I reckon.I'm just not convinced it works for a 98 + kg 6'2 frame in local conditions. Not that I'm giving up on it.....yet
Hey Hilly, looks like a good trip. Have you had a look around the river mouth at all? Is that wave there suppable?
One hooting hollow one in there, charging the fuddy too. You guys will get banned on a good day, the goofy's dominance is over.

Nice work on the backhand Hilly. Your too hard on yourself. I think your cameraman should go easy on the turps though, shakeeee ( just kiddin )
rivermouth is full ON....... fairplay to the boats that make it out through this,,, big big boulders too.....
this place is more like it ...but not for long
yeah pic from the headland, was going for a wave-sail there... pre-sup days,,, no way out here, wind shadow was ugly, the waves were out of my league and the shorey down the beach was extra ugly.... sailed on the river instead ZZzzzzzzz.
like you say, maybe ok on a small day.
always wondered about a sup at corros on a nice glassy day, especially those rights over the reef.

Hey Basecurve,
I am 105kg and Session allowed me to ride is 9'6 Wide AA, it wasnt a great day and I fell of a lot in the cross chop, the key I found was to just keep padling as hard as you can as soon as the board slowed down i was in trouble.
Blaine suggested for us bigger guys to use the FCS PC 7 inside foild fins. Since I have had them in my board it seems to track straighter when paddling but feels like it has power steering when you initiate a turn.
Might be worth a try if you can borrow some, I believe it might help.

Im pretty sure the "locals" would be pushin ya towards the suck rock on a good day.
Did ya paddle from the bay or did you jump off the reef?
Awsome effort though.

Hilly, sick, loved it.I really loved the big white wash take-off,I go ass over evrtime trying that,
other Robbo
Phil cheers for that advice. I will grab some tomorrow.
I must say I'm loving the challenge.New board new paddle (methane) and a fractured scapula (shoulder blade) just for interest means I'm paddling with 30% on my right side.
I sold my 11'2 this morning with a phone call just in case I was tempted to to return to the dark side.
Hilly I'm gonna stick with it for now but thx for the offer. It is just such a great challenge and the few glimpses I have had of it's ability will make it all worthwhile
