I was wondering that myself... And if I have read the start finish correctly it would be counter clockwise?
Going off the map on the first page it does indeed seem counter-clockwise - presuming the green is the start line and the black and white checker the finish. Just look at the short (white) loop (presumably all races finish on this one) - follow it from green to black and it's counter clockwise...
Hi Guys
Yes Jac is spot on it is Counter-clockwise. I just spoke with SWA, they are having issues with Surfing Australia's server. Everything should be back online later this afternoon.
6.2km Race has now opened up into Divisions:
Male 12'6 Open
Male 14' Open
Female 12'6 Open
Female 14' Open.
Please still enter on the SWA portal as either Male or Female 12'6 if you want to do the 6.2km race. We will sort out the separate board divisions for the 6.2km on the day when we load it into Racesplitter.
Hi Guys
Weather is looking great for the race!
Our hydration and nutrition sponsor 32GI has provided free goody bags of chews and endurance sachet drinks for all competitors.
All racing starts at 0730 - 3 waves 10secs apart.
Not sure about dogs, but it is a public park so if it is on a leash?
entries keep coming in, we have nearly 30 entered so far. Don't miss out on the $1000 board voucher from Stand Up Paddle Perth - a huge prize that is drawn from all entrants in the 20km and 6.2km race.
Just a reminder, entries close at midnight tonight for the Flatwater20.
The pontoons will be in place on Friday night from ~3pm. They will also be available to train on from 3pm on Saturday (not the morning as the Kayaks will be doing their marathon racing).
There is a group of SUPers going down on Saturday afternoon at 4pm to practice the Portage entry and exit on the pontoons. Remember this is only a requirement for the 20km race and you only do it for the first two laps.
Big field entered, should be fun!

Great field of paddlers for weekend. Any late entries please email - president@supwa.com.au
Registration at 0600 is only for SUPWA non-members to pay their day insurance. Everyone else 0630 will be fine as you only need your number and 32GI goodie bag. Briefing is 0700 sharp.
Just a reminder that SUPWA t-shirts will be available to purchase on the day. $30 will buy you this irreplaceable fashion statement. It has been said that to wear a SUPWA t-shirt will make you a better paddler !!
Hey guys,
We have a few more lady paddlers who will be interested in a late "on the day" entry. I'll let them know to get down early.
We have amassed over $3000 worth of prizes for everyone. Lets all hope for great conditions on the day.
See you on the water!

The Racesplitter program can be a little fickle sometimes and it is easier to have all the details locked in to avoid errors. If you can that would be great, otherwise see you in the morning
Payment for all late entries can be made on the day - just make sure you get there at 0600 for registration.
Thanks Darren, what a great prize list!
Another great event by SUPWA with perfect weather for the marathon. Big thanks to Darren from Stand Up Paddle Perth for sponsoring the day and supplying heaps of great prizes. The wife is stoked with her $1000 board voucher.
The portage section was "different" but it was good to get the legs moving and rest a few weary muscles.
Yeah I really enjoyed it! I agree being cheers for Darren and Todd.
Will there be an official postng of results and times?
Kind of curious to see the final stats.
The Stand Up Paddle Perth Flatwater20 had a great turn out of 40 paddlers on a perfect Autumn day with very little breeze.
The marathon champion - Marcus Tardrew did the 19.2km course in 2.03hrs. Given there was no assistance from tide and wind, he was averaging 9.4kmh. Hard to catch!
The portage provided a welcome change as did the circuit course. It added another skill and also gave an opportunity to break a draft (as well as waking the legs up!).
Special thanks to Darren from Stand Up Paddle Perth, for their sponsorship. Darren was no slouch on the water either, he walked away with a Gold medal in the O/40 division.
Results will be posted soon as will photos and a video of the day by Reflex Films.
Thanks to all that assisted and competed.
Greg
Hey Guys,
Yep, big thanks to SUPWA in conjunction with CWA for putting on a fine event. The weather was perfect, albeit maybe just a little warm.
It was great to meet so many old friends and make a few new ones along the way. The racing was quite tough and there were some great battles in the small groups on the sprint to the line.
Congrats to all the winners and placegetters and also thanks to the throng of volunteers who helped make the day a success. As Greg said, this was the first SUP and Kayak combined marathon championship, and from what I could see, it ran very smoothly. Great work!
Bloody good effort to all the paddlers who made this their first ever race. Gutsy and inspiring.
Big thanks to Todd my ever faithful assistant who worked the magic in the background behind the curtains and thanks to all my paddlers from our paddle group in Maylands, you guys never fail to impress me with your stellar attitude and willingness to have a go and have a bit of fun. Unreal!

PS. Luke, you might have to be really nice to Michelle before she comes in and picks out her new board. ;-)
Highlights would have to be the amazing individual efforts by Marcus and Michelle, some really tight racing. There were some great sprint finishes after 20 brutal km's. Also, what a great way to finish the day to see the Tardrew brothers jump back in and accompany their dad around the last lap. That's what it's all about.
Great event again thanks SUPWA, CWA, SUPP for sponsorship and the volunteers. Felt a lot less guilty eating chips and watching F1!
Super stoked to be back on the water, and what better way to ease back into paddling that a well organised SUPWA/CWA event. Thanks SUPP for the support and the goodies!
