Or pop up a clip of wrecking ball aka Greg Hearn coming hard off the bottom using his KeNalu paddle.

Red thumbs that's cool............
I would like to set a Challenge for someone to do an independent strength test with all the paddle brands?
I'll guarantee you KeNalu comes out on top!

And yes I agree it was a tacky stunt but I was just trying to demonstrate a point.

If you want something real, a week ago I had a top 10 paddler in the world tell me they would love to use KeNalu because when he demoed it for 2 weeks in the surf and flat water he said "finally he had some confidence in a paddle wouldn't snap".

Cheers Jonesy

It was cardboard so it wouldn't get scratched and had a full metre of concrete mix in the back tray!!!!!!

That's unreal is that the xtuff blade of the carbon ?
I recently went the fanatic over the kenalu and the only reason was the blade shape I like the new 7.25 fanatic blade shape over the kenalu for flat water paddling but I hear kenalu are bringing out new race designs soon.. Will be very keen to get hold of one of them!

A full meter of concrete bags you say? given most pre mix concrete bags are 20kg each how many bags did u have in the back? My guess you did not have the 108 bags to make a cubic meter of concrete, ill do the math for you as im not sure if you can. 20 x 108 = 2160kg....... yer right the tyre would be flat and its rim would just about cut the blade in half

Maybe he ment concrete "blend" which is sand and agg, and 1m3 of that would be about 1000kg give or take.

He can confirm this by giving the psi in the tyres

Either way, it would push that VW well over 2.5 tonne

Since its your claim, I challenge you to do it

What makes them stronger?

Design
Materials
Construction method

funny thing that no one has picked up is: A the paddle looks like it is already broken (do they sell paddles that short) and B, what does it prove? not much in the context of forces imposed during paddling...

Though it does prove if you are prone to leaving your paddles laying around the garage floor then the KeNalu is the one for you

Its not broken, it just misses the shaft.
You can buy different shafts from very stiff to rather flexible.
I got a Maliko with an Xtuff-S and its an awesome paddle so wouldnt drive over it with a pick-up....
(unfortunally they are very hard to get in Europe).

No problems......if we could get all the manufacturers to donate a paddle I'll organise it for sure!
I don't know anything about construction and design, I'm just a team froth'a.

A few facts to clarify a few things.
The blade took a load in exces of 600kg (1/4 the weight of the vehicle)....I know this cause it's my Ute.
The cardboard was placed under the blade so it didn't get scratched on the driveway.
It was not a damaged or broken blade.... It was an Elite carbon blade with the shaft removed. Easily done with a Ke Nalu as the blade / shaft connection is with hot melt glue.
The test was not intended to replicate the loads applied during paddling.....it was just a bit of fun to see how tough the blades are.
As you can see in the vid the blade was undamaged.....they are damn tough and super light.
If it had have been trashed it could have been replaced under the Ke Nalu forever paddle policy.
Disclaimer......I'm the Australian distributor for Ke Nalu and if someone can think of a better way to test the blades strength, let me know and I'll see if we can do it

The only way test its strength is to test it until it fails everything will fail at some point due to many factors.
I am not saying the blade is not as strong as you clam, I was just bagging the run over test and the clamed weight of the bags in the back, I too did my on test just like shown in the video but replaced a blade with a tissue, guess what, it didn’t break either

Haha.....that's funny mate.
Go back and reread my previous post.
It was just a bit of fun to see how the blade took it......never intended to test the limits.
It would be interesting to see if other manufacturers blades of similar weight could handle the same punishment

So what is this? Some kind of battle of the paddle(s)?

I suppose we should be grateful they're just showing off their blades. If this became a contest to see who has the stiffest shaft...

It's not the blade that ever breaks is it? It's the shaft?
A good test would be a blade with shaft in a vice with a rope around it with a winch pulling it with a pull/push force gauge attartched to winch.. Any reabilitaion phisyo should have one of those gauges

JonseySUP, lighten up, in response to your private message you sent me this morning "Hey Graig, just wondering why you became so negative about us posting the KeNalu vid?
Cheers Jonesy "

Ok, as i stated in my second post, i was NOT saying your blade was not as strong as as you clam, i was negative about the clamed weight in the back of ute. (i was taking the pi$$ out on the number of bags you recon you had in the back)
Sorry if I offended you, your mate, your brand. And going buy the effort of other menber im the least of your worries, how many private messages have you sent?

PS paul.j great vid, pi$$ed my self
