Hi Casso

Is the Photographer Mick Dawes (PE Teacher)??

Yes, it's Michael Dawes. He has all his pics on Flickr www.flickr.com/photos/tk_five_0/collections/72157600212714971/

He has an awesome collection of photos that are well worth checking out. Those early sunrise ones I posted a while back are all his photos...

A small whale was stuck in the nets and Dale and Casso paddled out to check it out from a distance (the camera angle makes it look closer than it is).

Anyway the Seaworld guys rocked up and started their rescue attempt. While they were trying to cut it loose the adult whales were also trying to free it. There were a few harrowing moments for the rescuers (4-5th time this year on the Goldie!) but they eventually got it free.

We all watched it from the Burleigh headland and it was great to see them finally Free Willie.

If you are up this way check out the TV news as Casso was interviewed. He is a lot uglier in real life. Watch out for any paintshop work in his new magazine!

Maybe the nets should be called Whale Nets, rather than shark nets-they're so bloody useless!
