So Lacey what do you think of the new C4 paddle? (Before your inovation)
Tried on on sunday and liked it but thought the shaft didnt flex enough?
I saw Lacey's broomstick paddle last night under the cloak of darkness and after having spoken the secret pass word and provided the ritual handshake and me thinks he's onto something. Much more comfortable and lots more power to the ground.
I am more laughing with you than at you Lacey!

Up until the early 90's the bulk of the Hawaiian outrigger paddlers had no T tops on the paddle , you will still see this today with the surfing steering paddles , so what Lacey has done has some merit. There is heaps of vision of Connor Baxter not using his T grip just holding the shaft. Definitely worth a try..
I like it.
I added this handle to my Ke Nalu today. Used a bit from a old broken Pohaku paddle with an oval shaft. Since Ke Nalu's go together with hot glue it was pretty quick to do. I little hot glue on the shaft and some hockey tape. Feels good.
Only problem is I'm going to have to avoid Connor for quite a while. I gave him a bunch of crap about his stroke this summer when he was at my house in Hood River. Hopefully he's forgotten it by now. I'm going to go tell Lewis Hamilton how to drive and give Mark Webber some tips on passing later on.
I made a lower handle yesterday that has one of our ergo handles with a 45 degree section cut out of it, then epoxied and glassed to a piece of shaft so I could slide it on. Tried it yesterday--very clumsy. I think this will be better.
So if we knock off this handle do we call it a Lacey?
Make up your mind Lacey the logos go to print tomorrow, the MK1 first batch came out a treat all one thousand of them
I am going to try it. It sounds too good to be true. A day on the pond without shoulder pain. Too good.
After seeing Conner Baxter use what I like to call the "Conner Clutch" on the shaft for fast/rapid paddling, I gave it a go and it definately has merit. Feels more comfortable, less stress on the shoulders and gives different muscle groups a workout while the usual muscle get a break.
Lacey you really should get a patent on this grip, I think the slight angle, the contours and lower cup to allow increased downward pressure all appear to work together well. Perhaps you should be on the phone to Conner as well so he can endorse the handle.
The Conner Clutch (tm) "When you want speed, drop the Clutch"
I'm just re-posting to get this back on top of the forum again because it has gone so quite that I think people might be madly getting their patents in to secure the first "shaft handle" on the SUP market!
C'mon fess up if cogs are ticking!
