I am 67.
My Slate has teeth!
It is shorter than my 7'11" and my 8'4".
Fast, loose, and fun when it's clean. And an absolute pig dog slug to paddle.
It doesn't like chop. Either do I.
Love this board AND the others mentioned. How 'bout that!!
At the end of the day I can still get completely surfed out on my six year old 9-2x28 PSH all around.
But one of these waiting in the garage wouldn't suck.
On another sup forum. There was a great thread from an anon glasser, step by step photos and explanation. Then the last shots showed this.
As a dedicated BC rider, 6 boards, my jaw swung open. The thread was deleted into internet history.
Who really cares what people don't like?
Stuff is made for the people that DO like it.
I'm not a fan of the square/wide/flat manhole covers either, but I managed to find a Stub Nose that I like love.... surfs better than any traditional board I have ridden.. and I rode 5 hot sellers, this weekend!
but then, I'm old and largish, so what the hell do I know....
different strokes, different stokes.
These are the SUPs I'm riding at the moment, have to say the L41 & the Sunova are my favourites, both are very fast & turn on a dime.
Each person will have their own ideas, but as long as you have a smile on your face & your enjoying yourself.
I love the slates. I have ridden a Raptor (until I snapped it) and I am now riding a JP Slate which does the job. Both were the smallest available and yet a little too big for me (7''0 and 7''2).
I have been getting tubed off my nut on both of them.
Small boards are super fun and have their place. My 6'10 stays inside my car strapped to the inner roof along with my paddle. The wife doesn't realise it's there when I'm backing out of the driveway with no intention of going to work and the grommets don't see it hovering above them while I'm strapping them into their baby seats. Aside from the convenience of it fitting in a hatchback they are highly responsive little weapons with similar manouverability and speed to a shortboard. This is some footage the boys got of my first surf on our initial prototype. Yes I was being a pest.. but old mate paddled out and faded me on 2 waves prior and there were only 3 of us out on the wave at the end of the clip
Hi Piros and Laceys Lane,
I'm confused, are you writing me off?
Fairly new to forums, excuse my naivity.
