Howdy all

long time since i have posted so i thought this would be a good topic

i am having a new board made up by Bob, about 90% finished and at the moment measures 12'2" x 25 x 3 1/4

went for 2 x 1/2 inch cedar stringers and will glass with 2 layers of 8 ounce volan top and bottom. Will do the Champagne volan job which is just straight volan with a little bit of brown mixed in. Going to have a Red old school gel coat comp stripe done couple of feet up from the tail on a angle. going for a Red glass in D fin also.

anyhow here are some shots of the work so far.

Great looking stick BS. The classing will be fun to watch - probably need a few diff mixes going. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Just out of interest- is this the biggest Board Bob hadsfe this century ?

haha no i think the biggest board Bob ever made was a 16fter that i think was like a wind sail blank or something. It is sitting in Hogs Breath cafe in Byron apparently although i havnt seen it

ahha all good brother. Going to go for a glass in this time. Big D. close to the tail. I find you need a big fin on big boards because when you go forward there is so much tail lift the back can start going crazy!

i like big fins too because 130kgs with a size 18 foot turning them isnt that hard at all i dont think

I keep coming back and looking at this thing. Just amazing. I imagine it would just cruise on barely there waves and link section after section of tiny peelers.

Is that the sort of thing you are after?

Like others have mentioned, I love the double stringers.
