*For like the 50th time I will try & post. Internet is very flaky here*
Good timing mate, you would have seen a lot less rain than when I arrived & tomorrows forecast looks promising. Hopefully the thunderstorms forecast after that are for the Ubud crew
I get my longboard back Monday arvo & will be having drinks/dinner daily at Geger if you head over this way let me know. Lots of longboard friendly waves too if you brought yours. Have a good one
Following pics relate to these rambles www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Surfing/Longboarding/Bali-January-2018
We slipped into Bali on the 11th Jan 2018 while the volcano was sleeping almost peacefully just a bit of steam coming out. But we were Miles away & had no plans of going any further North of Ngurah Rai
Most had no one out, but then again this is considered pretty crappy conditions by a lot of people....spoilt people...not me
90% of my photos ended up being wave sequences of empty waves. The following aren't sequences, just a few select pics of waves during morning hightide while I was cruising around waiting for the breakfast buffet food coma to subside
Got hollower on the mid tide before the low was too shallow.
Was stoked the missus captured a couple of barrels on the second day at a place closer to shore, most baz action was 2km offshore & hard to capture.
Smallest day I took the newly repaired CW Whalebone out to Nusa Dua, heapsa fun but hard for pics from the beach about 2kms away
Saw some fun rights between the nuas dua, panorama mode is decreasing size...of the photo, wave was already small
I had some fun waves on the othe side waiting for the tide to drop & avoiding following the missus through a nearby shopping maze
Nusa Dua Beach Grill is pricier than the Warungs on Geger, but definately worth a visit or two
Panorama shots make a far distance look futher
Certainly not close, but a nice place to watch the waves having a beer, a little more elevated than Geger. Guy slotted there.
Stoked to have the CW Whalbone back in action, the 6'1 left of didn't get used this trip, last Sept it was my main board, the 6'0 on the right was a lot of fun this trip, same-same but so-so different....cheers
Hi mac. Hope your adjusting to home life again.
Did you have a few beers at the brissy or goldie airport bar before heading home this morning

Thanks for sharing Mick, whats the name of that place in the 14.30 mark Hotel ?
Cheers mate...thats the Nusa Dua Beach Grill on the South end of Geger beach. Access by vehicle is from the Geger Temple road or you can walk down a Path in front of the Mulia resort. Right next to Mulia, but locally owned. Nice place for a beer/food overlooking the waves

So as you walk into Geger beach to the huts and that massive hotel on the right, where is it from there more south?

Yep if you head onto Geger beach down the road on the North side of the Mulia, you can walk down the concrete path in front of the Mulia & turn right after you cross the little bridge. Or just park in the Beach Grill carpark accessed by the Geger Temple road.
