Anyone had contact with them lately?

I have sent them a email (inquiry on their website) recently about a custom wombat with no reply.

dont know how long I should wait until I look elsewhere.

Lacey where is Lacey?

Lacey has owned one or two and has met Beau a few times he may know.

Easier said than done!

Love the look of the wombat and can't think of anything similar. Except maybe a sumo...

As I understand he is away but back shortly.
give cooly surfy a call. Ask for damo. He is doing some work for beau surfboards as well as being the big wig at cooly surf

I had a similar experience late last year. Looking for a custom board I emailed 3 shapers through their websites. None of them were quick to reply but Beau Young actually got back to me the quickest. Only problem was it wasn't Beau that got back to me but one of the factory hands. So I'd ask a question and it was "I'll ask Beau" then "Beau reckons...." Well if I'm going custom I'd like to talk to the shaper himself thanks. So I started looking at other options, came across Gary McNeill. He answered my emails within hours, sent me his phone number, answered his phone when I rang etc. I ended up getting a cracker of a board from a shaper I could speak to easily and it was cheaper too.

Ok I think I need to change this thread from where is Beau Young to other board suggestions similar to a wombat mk2.

Criterial:
2+1 fin setup.
For wave knee to head high
Easy paddling
Nose doesn't have to be as wide as the wombat (was also looking at a Takayama Howard special mini)

I'm 85kg, 28 and pretty average surfing ability.

Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Webber diamond. Custom pu with his flex fins from Greg Webber or a TSA xf epoxy diamond for an off the rack instant gratification fix.
Would really like to try one of these.

I'm of the opinun if you really have your mind set on something go with it,don't go and get something similar or worse have another shaper knock the design off.

Thanks guys all boards suggested looks good in one way or another but I'm sticking to my guns.

Just PMed Wavelength about a 6"8 wombat they have in stock.

Don't know if it will be a little big as I was originally thinking 6"4/6"5 but I am warming up to the idea of a slightly longer one.

ive seen longer ones and they look nice. I was talking to damo today and the man is back home.

ive meet the man and his boards are very good. however he's not a hi tech computer type kind of person but he knows his boards.

probably needs to pickup his game there

if you can deal with that you'll get there.

also cooly surf would have some in stock.

im happy enough just to have top shaper designers if I cant get their personal shaping.

two cracking boards= the bsq and the bushranger the designer shapers never touched.

most of it is the design for me
