Thanks Doggie!
You're a good bloke even though the occasional person in the SUP Room takes you the wrong way !!
The big Merrick Single on the list;
Single Fin (MSF) 7'0” x 21 ½” x 3 1/8”
Blow my own trumpet now !!
Well this one was originally pioneered by me, and they were my board specs.... they hadn't done one at that size until I order mine, with discussion with Mike Rommelse... I told Mike I wanted a 70's style single, loads of volume, that I could paddle like a mal, and steal waves from the old malibu guys at North Avalon...! (Mike's now living in the land of the lefts.... Indo.... helping run Onboard Industries / Insight in Indo...)... Mike had a go on the board at small Avalon one day and was impressed. So from then on, they were offering the board as an alternative to a Malibu.
Pfff - you think the website is good go in the store (and then try to leave empty handed!)
Yes it's probably a bad thing it's just down the road.

(this PerformerII is a beauty, with lovely blue tints... Tints on a modern performance board... best of both worlds... new school performance, old school looks !! - hence my comment about getting a McT Fireball WITH TINTS !! )
Let's give 'em a little plug.

Remember guys.... freight of boards has become quick and cheapish.... !!!
Ok - to me these are the sexiest boards on the planet. One of them (doggie will know) is the greatest board ever made - even though I can never ride one I would still love to own it.
Yep done a little black in the past and the wax just don't stick
Old quiver shot here the black and white deck board is the one I am
referring too
It has been copied from o/seas as my board maker did one the same months ago and has since sold it.It's a gimmick.
maybe it does serve a purpose
How must of the tip of a board is in the water even when you're up on the nose
All the work is being done by the rail shape, the deck roll, the tail rocker and the conc isn't it
It started as a trend because some shaper got an order and put a blank in the machine that was 2" too small and then came up with some cockamamy excuse to make the look "cool".
OR
it's a cheater for nose riding - takes 2" off the front so you can get there quicker.
Or
Another option is that it lets you put a wider nose on a shorter board because your fairing the nose to a point 2-6" or so infront of the proposed length. Which would be good for bigger people like me who need the plan area to be bigger to support your weight and would make it easier/more fogiving to nose ride.
I do like the red finish.
Maybe some of our lurking shapers can set us straight.
