That van has been around for a long time SB,I think from the 60s he's been doing things to it and had different sorts of styles with it.I can appreciate the work gone into it and a nice van but a bit to much on it now I think, sometimes keeping them simple is the best way imo

This is it years ago in the late 60s /early70s...

Not a genuine Holden factory one though mate.Only one FJ Holden Station Wagon was made as a prototype in 1955,they never went ahead with it.They raffled it off to prospective employers who wanted to buy it,one lucky bloke won it and drove it around for years as his daily ride and has since passed away and it has been passed down in his son .Apparently it is undergoing a full resto to date. That one^ is a Cordell Body Works conversion they did about a dozen of them, they say there is about 4 or 5 left today, bloody cool though hey I love it

Remember you saying - a lot of very neat originals ended up at scrapyards & wreckers for parts when old geezers fell off their perches mate , lots ended up as pet food tins and the like sadly

Geez,I remember as a kid my mate and I would ride our bikes to all the local wreckers around S/W Sydney there was heaps of them back then. There was just rows and rows of early Holdens,Fords and Valiants,I can still picture a lot of them.I said to one bloke working at one of them, what are you doing with some of these cars "Ah just crushing them mate"I saw one car they where lifting up on the forklift ready to be crushed,it was a HT Holden Premier 5litre V8 looked like nothing wrong with it all there but no one wanted it

That's bang on - there were quite a few years there where they were not in fashion & heaps disappeared entirely , lots more butchered for demo derbies , bush bashers & roo shooting wagons left in the bush etc etc and yeah gazillions of food tins

Spot on mate, even the humble HQ Holden, half a million made now try and get a good one,the HQ racing series wrecked a lot of them.I seen for sale a few months ago on Ebay a bare HQ shell, nothing on it no doors,no bonnet,no boot nothing bare bones,it was up to 3 grand and climbing
