Travis burn had a brain explosion, he is going to be having a decent rest.
As for inglis it looked bad and wasn't helped by Young getting taken off on the medicab but as you said 2 weeks is probably about right IMO.
yep I tend to agree - 2 to 3 weeks is fair punishment - smashing the head is a no no in my book.
Well done Souths and a big thanks as well - they have been good to me in recent times So have the Tigers SP but for other reasons
well when i grew up and played in the 80s.my coach would have given me man off the match if i pulled that hit off.
talking 2012 he will get the max as the ex players sitting on the panel would not be real stoked with maguire saying that they will be influenced in their decision by the remarks from price in the press conference. and was in the head
if it was me i would be dead after that hit
Seems not all is well in the Souths camp Scotty - are you worried???? How far does the mud stick?
SOUTH Sydney have sacked James Roberts, a player believed to be one of their most promising rising stars.
The Rabbitohs issued a two sentence statement today saying they had sacked Roberts and his under 20 teammate Adrian Ha'angana for breaches of their contracts and the club's code of behaviour.
The club also said it would make no further comment on the decision.
Roberts is a nephew of former NRL player Amos Roberts, who played 226 top grade games in Australia and England with Penrith, Sydney Roosters, St George Illawarra and Wigan.
A member of the 2011 Toyota Cup team of the year, Roberts played 10 first grade games for the Rabbitohs in 2011.
It is understood the players have 14 days to respond to their breach notices.
can you smell red & green rabbit poo I can smell red & green rabbit poo for the premiership the storm are colder than a nun's booboo , the bullys are another year away the hares are hotter than Jenny Hawkin's g-strings at the minute
I know its early in the week but I feel like having a rant.....
So Chris Sandow reckons Parramatta can go from bottom of the NRL ladder to being a real premiership threat in 2013.
"I can see it happening next year for us," Sandow said.
"When I started at Souths, we had blokes like Jason Clark, Chris McQueen, Dave Tyrrell and Nathan Peats, and look at those guys now.
They're playing like they've been doing it for years.
"Here at Parramatta, we've got Ryan Morgan, Matt Ryan, Joseph Paulo, and we're building something really good here.
Well in my humble opinion one of the reasons Souths has gone so well this year is that they have a decent halfback!!!!!!!! And a bunch of people playing like a TEAM in a team game. They also have a good coach by the look of it which brings me to my next point.......
Now they are saying that Ricky will go and be their coach next year....ummm shall we have a look at his outstanding record in recent years - so he did well at the Roosters for a few years early on - they also had arguably one of the best players going around in a key position and a great team (probably stretched the salary cap too a bit I reckon) yet with a great team in 2005 and 2006 he did poorly. He then goes to the Sharkies and does nothing special and gets punted 18mths before his contract is up. Once more leaving in less than acrimonious circumstances. Rep wise he won one Origin series back in 2005 then headed off to coach Australia where they lost the world cup to the mighty NZ team - I recall he lost the plot afterwards and gave it to the referee boss at the hotel before having to stand down. Nice form. He has been back coaching Origin now for 2 series and still not delivered.
So yes he was a great player in both codes, yes he had good success early on in his coaching career but since then he has pretty much done nothing despite having some good players around him. His teams also playing boring football in my eyes.
Hope this has not come across to one-sided - I have given him some credence for past performance.....but he has done nothing for years and does not have a good track record with officials and administrators. I would think that this is a classic case of his PR team having done an outstanding job the last few years in re-building the RS brand and the management of a club being caught like a rabbit in the headlights after sacking 2 coaches in 2 years with big payoffs - one after he got them to the grand final the year before.
Seems like a marriage in heaven if you ask me
Rant over.
^^^^
can't see Parra being anything more than mid-table for a while yet Ted - I like what Maguire has been able to get Souths to do each week , an honest team oriented style (much like the Storm where he came from surprise surprise kudos to crowe for spying that too!) with a dash or two of brilliance via Inglis etc .... good luck to RS , he'll need lots of that at Parra.
Geez souths look dangerous & hungry
Ben Te'o got a downgrade from grade 2 to grade 1 with 77 carry over points and is free to play this weekend. Not that I give a fark about him or Broncos but hoping they are in good mood for Inglis. Inglis' hearing was due to start at 7pm - fingers crossed.
