Just googled and browsed through it. I will read the Tele in the morning at my fav cafe at Coogee with my poached eggs on multi grain toast with side of smoked salmon and avocado. If that farkin waitress pays any attention - usually got to send up a flare for that 2nd cupper. Sorry got off track and excited with the food.
Re:George. I heard that when the current owners took over the life members i.e. the legends of the club were asked to re-apply for there life membership. That comes from a good source.
So Scotty how was yr eggs? And more importantly what did u think of the article...I can not believe that he is bringing all this out now with the finals just around the corner.....lets hope he does not derail the boys - actually I hope so as then Manly will back t0 back it
Morning Ted,
I went with the salmon breaky roll instead.
Re: George. At first, I thought why now? After reading the article I understand why he has come out with this now. George has been asked for a few years to come back to the Souths fold and watch the Bunnies - he has declined everytime. Now that the Bunnies are the closest they have been in 40 years to a premiership the calls have been stepped up. In fear of looking more like a stubborn old fool he has revealed the true reason why he has taken this stance. His story is aimed purely at owners Crowe and Holmes a Court and in no way directed at the current team, club, etc. George is so well respected at Souths that his stance would be well understood. Look, things got ugly when the privatisation vote happened. The irony is that without George (and numerous other lower profile people) Souths would not have been re-instated and without Crowe/Court the Bunnies would not have the players/coach they have today. Collectively, both warring parties have played a huge part in the Bunnies current success. It's a dog eat dog world.
