I'd have to agree on the Clearwater Whalebone and Hotlog, had both and wouldn't hesitate to own either again.
Don't forget Goddard, he does some great shapes too, I have his Silk Pin. Best bet is talking to a couple of these shapers like Ron Goddard and Steve Del Rosso and explain what your looking for.
Theres a Clearwater 903 x 23 x 3 setting in my shed at work,if its not claimed in 7 days.
Oh it had the beer garden board written on the bottom comes with free cover and camera.
as a first round investor I am happy to second that. Seems it works well for all. JB gets a nice board to play on for $50 for a week and we get to watch vid of him in action !
Yeah arra was pretty good a few head high waves and not too bad crowd wise although crowds have increased since they had the Aussie titles there now at crescent and it's looking really nice swell a bit south but still some nice ones
Just went into Stewart Maxwells shop Maximum surfboards at Currumbin. Saw a couple of nice 9'1's and a 9'6. 9'6 seems so much more board, what's the benefit of the extra length. I know this is a stupid question for you guys but an honest longboard learning questions for me.
1. What's the benefit of extra length in a longboard when riding? (shortboard=easier to paddle)
2. What's the benefit/challenge with riding a board with rolled edges through to the tail?
Just trying to understand the benefits of some longboard design features and whether they are the same as shortboard and SUP
