But Nozza rides 666's so is that a different feel compared to longboarding.

His collection would have to be one of the best getting around.

mate you've seen me turn mine on a dime - just a schitload more volume to wire in that's all but it has helped to have a prone background maybe

Pup turn we call that a wiggle or arse shift I know first hand I'm the king of the wiggle

Yep I've geared up now and have a craft that I plan on unloading on anybody who drops in on me and courses any hint of pain,I'll just stick it up their rear instead of coping self damage.

My "surfing" tends to be a less than 10 second wobble towards the beach, ending in a crash.
If I make the drop at the start.
"rides" is stretching it.
I don't get out enough to get better quickly - live over an hour from surf.
I can "flat" water paddle 5 minutes from home, so that gets done daily.
But "Flat" is usually too choppy to get out.
Oops I'm getting too negative.
Only been trying to learn to surf for about 3 years, and it's hard to pick up at 55 when you've never surfed and don't live near surf.
Have had my most success at Merimbula, and further north on NSW South Coast.
You lot have no idea how farnarkeling cold it gets down here in winter, and the last couple of years wind seems to have gone north west in May, and blows on shore at 20 knots for the next 6 months.
Air temperature lucky to be 10, water about the same. Or colder.
Put on the 4/3 steamer - frucking nearly dislocates everything getting in and out of the thing, head freeze in the water, dressed like a seal wondering if the sharks are interested.
Go out and get hammered.
My surf spot is north side of Phillip Island. I go and look and no ones out.
I wonder, "Is no one out because I'm the only person on Phillip Island that wants to go surfing now?"
Or "Is no one out because it's too big / too small / too crappy?"
Or" is no one out because the big fish with teeth are swarming?"
I have a look, wonder, and go to work.
But I'm having a ball trying.
And loving the whole "scene".
I have read heaps about the history of surfing - Matt whatever his names site.
And the fins! Beautiful things, works of art, nice shiny things. Beats stamp collecting.
Don't care if I can't use them, I can put them in and out of the boards, read about them, look at them, adjust them!!
The collection is great! To the point when I bought a board I wasn't expecting to, I could think "I have just the fin for that"
That may have been a bit too honest.
Turn? I would be happy to go straight!!!!!!
And Mac, all I want is a moment of the Longboard feel.
That was definitely too honest.

When you have more than 3 or 4 sets of fins for a particular fin box & your not competing on the competitive circuit...or you are. Then you know you have too many fins

That blue & white banded board needs a 7.5cm cutaway fin Nozz - she'll turn on a dime with one of those beasties in just forward of centre in the box plus a pair of 4.5's for biters

Cutaways......
Got some 4.5 sides out of a quad set....
Found the Smith Parish 6.0 I was thinking of.

Or True Ames 9.5 Cutaway.....

Rainbow Fins 7.0 Cutaway....

Love this fin

True Ames Squirrel Cutaway....

Getting extreme, George Greenough Stage 6....

Just spotted this, Wayne Rich 7.0

But I think I'm back to my favourite....

Agreed... I love hanging out with my boards while the wireless makes sounds in the background and I'm thinking of my next wave, where will I surf, what banks are good.....or generally I reminisce about my favourite wave from 1983

Look at 0.34 - is that a longboard with a Dewey Weber hatchet in it?
Photo is my fin, not theirs

0.35 too.
Don't seem to show him surfing it.
