Thats it I'm taking my question to the 666 room
don't think its even that much mac
I beg to differ on a shortboard .
when you are on 26 litres 27 is a big step up. especially if your 75 kgs and up
the less litres your using the more your going to feel giving or taking foam. to say only a pro would know is wrong
even on a 666. once you get under a 100 lts you feel every bit more or less

im not sure about one litre...but three litres outta a shorty and i can tell just how i sit in the water that it is less

been a while since ive been down that low but 26.5 to 27 was good for me. 26 just beyond on most boards. tried borrowed 25 lts- no good. a bridge to far.
now 33 to 34 lts is easy. I suppose after 666 bigger lts doesn't worry my anymore so much, where pre 666 28 lts was a boat.
the old where you sit in the water trick
Liters are bull**** foam blown at different tempuratures will give different densities...so blanks blown on a stinking hot day will be less dense than ones blown when its freezing cold....

litres are not the be all and end all i agree...but it is a great starting point if you know what suits you....hey i have different boards that are all different litres, but the rails and foils through the nose and tail etc make a big difference as well.
but when i talk to sdr, he knows what suits me and litres is always a good way to start the shape,,,
its cool tux,rookie mistake

Absolutely - with a few additions. Foils and rockers and outline. I think those things make a far far bigger difference than sitting a rib higher or lower in the water.
I have three 7' boards, two on 48 and one on 46. The 46 litre board paddles the best by a significant margin. Low rocker, wide nose, wider center point. All are 3' inches thick. Of course that's not my board for sucky take offs or some of our more powerful waves.
One of the other two will surf 8'; the other one is signing off at 5' and that one paddles markedly worse than the gunnier board.
Litreage is largely a furphy created by CNC program's ability to measure it IMO. Plus most people need more foam. Good for me they don't realise it thigh.

I know of one well known shaper that told a guy to go and work out his weight in liters as joke...the bloke went away and did it...not happy when he realised it was stitch up

I wasnt going to get that deep about different board shapes which are a factor.
I was sticking with the litre topic.... for a change
Add another stringer and the new one will look like this, clean.
another stringer hey. why don't you just get it off white pigment too and totally copy my beau young seaplane

Now that you mention it...there is more than a passing resemblance there isn't there...
You, Lacey, are the bellwether in the relationship hey?
Not so sure about that drip, behind closed doors it was in fact me who mentioned this very board with 60/40 rails

he likes to be lead.
easy target for DUES
I reckon double stringers and glassed in volan to reduce the flex...maybe a double pin line as well, red and black, that way you stick to your colour scheme but end up with something a bit different

Your onto something Tux.
It will have the double stringer, volan with glassed in fin,fin colour burnt orange that will match the cedar finished off with lease loop and fin patch.
Good old Australian made none of that pop out stuff

Shesh...everyone knows its about how good you look in the car park not how you roll in the water...plus as El Presidente for Life who is going to argue
I've had a lot of calls and text messages over the past few months regarding boards that are not for sale but could be.
Without breaking Seabreeze rules I figured perhaps a heads up topic for any boards that you may know of that somebody
is thinking of selling, trading or even swapping.
Lets keep it on subject gents. Surely somewhere on here is a Mac board build thread.
For the right money I'd flick this stunner
A good board to add to the collection
It is very nice
