Wow 3 pages already and we haven't even got into the colour / design aspect. This thread has the potential to out do some of the Prez's board builds

lol. It could be pink for all I care... (I do care..) as long as I can sit on the fkn thing without sinking and catch a wave with it.

I will likely buy others but I want something quickly I can catch some waves on over the xmas break (the one concentrated break of 5-6 days for the next 5-6 months ).

Am going to look at a board BeerDad has end of next week when I return from Melbourne but want a few alternatives in case it doesn't suit,

The 12ft MUnoz will do that and you will be able to ride it in tiny ripples....TBH any board that big is going to cost a bit you should probably budget about 100 - 200 per foot depending on who you know and what you want

Greg Brown is the man behind Gash surfboards and has one the Aussie longboard title a bunch of times...shapes beautiful longboards and shortboards...doesn't have a website and only answers the phone if he's not surfing

Mate was out on his 12ft blue Munoz today, I call it the blue beast...he had any set wave he wanted, as usual...apparently he's trying to get a 14 ft board made, but the Noosa shaper hasn't been able to get hold of a blank yet.

I think Vanders has had some bigger boards as he is a big guy. Mainly from Steve Del Rosso amd others. Steve is a big guy as well which helps. I hear the saying that big blokes should buy boards off of big shapers as only big guys really know what type of volume big blokes need. SDR is also very good value with really reasonable prices

Steve Del Rosso has built me some good larger boards, basically I'm a kook but as BigSpazz said it's about leaving the water with a smile on ya dial. I can't quite agree with the big guy/big shaper though when it comes to my Goddard boards as Ron wouldn't come close to being classed as a big bloke.

Anyway I've nothing under 10' these days and don't plan too, going larger actually myself.

Ok..... so this is the only 12 foot board i have seen other than the munoz so gonna bite the bullet.

Have contacted seller and will make a deposit

Will either freight it or drive up to tweed heads (have never been further north than crescent head so could be a good excuse for a drive over xmas break)

Herbie,do you think you can handle the length of a 12 footer? its one hell of a big board in and out of the water.

I guess i am gonna find out...

Out of the water will be fine.

In the water..... as long as it has a 666 target on the front i should be fine

Storing it will be a little bit of an issue.

Yes well to start off with i need to ease my way back into it so it will be conditions less than 3' so will hopefully be a lot of fun.

I work a lot and need a worthy distraction.

Very nice, funny how the length makes it look narrow, from the photo you would not pick it for being 24 wide.
There used to be a brand called Hutchison in the early 70s, they had a real goth logo
