Well can't say much for me in Sydney, went out Saturday & it was.. taddah closing out, now theres a suprise. So i go out at South Palmie thinking I'll get something NAH. wat a ijit, just takeoff & bail practice. But highlight of the morning was, for me (old phukker) an older bloke was out on short wide style board, said gidday, then realised that it was Midget. Saw he get a couple still got that distinctive style. But I'm going, in my head, whats he riding, how long, wide, thick concaves yadda yaddah, can i ask him , should I, nah, don't be a dick. Macca one day I'll remember to take photos, just like I do do on holidays, but when I get to the beach the old mind goes blank & forgets it got camera with it. Such is surfin'...

Should've asked him he's a good bloke and really approachable not like some animals out there

It's not the only one. This will bring ne grief.... But old mate up here has tried to.get rid of his for a while. Peeps.see it and laugh. I think they might go in the mccoy basket, you are either a fan with thick skin or someone who mocks their owners.

Not fair to call it the worst board, maybe just a rider that's lost motivation.

OK i'll bite...For a thread (12500 odd hits going since last May) where guys are actually talking about boards they ride or are asking questions about similiar board designs to help them make a decision as to whats 'out there" other than a McT (NSW board) or an SDR I think its going pretty good. Ain't this what this whole site is supposed to be about.... Hmmn... Simply make a Midlenght room and leave it to us...'taint hard. Then we won't impinge on your deep & meaningful longbord discussions & sensibilities. Maintain the rage you midlenthers.. Once upon a time a 7' board was "a board" ask TC didn't he just ride one at Pipe.

Its all good and your correct, its refreshing to read threads about surfing in here,go figure.

My apologies if my poor humour has offended.

Howdy,

There are 2 of these up for grabs on eBay at the moment...

Any ride reports? Worth the outlay?

Both not unreasonably priced.

Most would say yes but thats a very broad question dude, depends on a bunch of variables such as your size/ability/waves/style etc etc... I Love mine, she flies and if you read back through this thread you'll see its generally rated very highly...

I actually don't rate it in small sloppy stuff but find it excels once you get a nice long head high wall to carve. Paddles beautifully and catches waves super early, handles a steeper drop than you think and smashes through flat sections. definitely surfs better if you use the whole board, i.e. if you have a tube or a fast straight section you need to step forward on the board to get her going at maximum trim...

That said, I rarely use mine as I prefer the long board...

Thanks for the info AndyRooMac.

These boards look interesting and having read through the posts there seems to be 2 sides to the opinions.

1 - those who actually ride them seem to enjoy them immensely (for the majority).

2 - those who haven't ridden one but believe it looks like a dog of a board.

I am loving my logs these days but think something shorter yet familiar in shape may be a good addition...

In saying that I am not too sure if I will pull the trigger and grab one of the ones off of eBay. Who knows though, after a few beers I get a little frisky with my internet clicking

A double negative - perhaps you do not really want one after all

I reckon they would probably go ok despite their less than visual appeal. I have had a Miller Waterskate before and it was a ripper of a board. I have seen lots of his boards over the years and they seem to hold up well. If they are going for a reasonable price - then you can probably take a punt on one of them and if you do not like it move it on to someone else and have a crack at something else.
