Mac, mine was off the rack! Already on route to Vic!
Big fun sized Tracker, as pictured.
8'6 x 22 x 3. Volane glass, and blonde solid timber stringer!
Yeah thanks a lot everyone! I'd be surfing it on a point break around 2-3ft and occasionally at beacheis around 2 ft. Just wondering what size any of you guys would recomend as i want something stable and easy enough to paddle (im 81kg and probably around 5'11)
As a simple rule I firmly believe that volume is your friend - especially in waves like that and at your level. I would suggest you aim for something in the 35 to 40 litre range as an indication, that is flat with a wide nose as SP said. Perhaps a 6'0" POD or a 5'10 to 6'0 Potatnator or a 5'6 to 5'8 Baked potato or sweet potato. Lots of other great boards out there but I am not too up on the models. Just go for a low rocketed board with a widish nose and you probably can not go wrong.
If you find one you like post it for some quick feedback from the greenroom. Where in NSW are you? I will keep an eye out for you. Are you going new or second hand?
Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback! Im free to spend whatever really as i need a new board. Im think of going for the Al Merrick Average Joe maybe 5'9-6'0??
Sounds like a good choice.
There's a review of it on compareboards.com and the tester rides one over-sized for his stats.
