Go a nice natural Volan with a thick stringer down the guts - laps optional

I found my last 3 nose ride thread pics at this Davenport blog

surfboardsbydavenport.tumblr.com/#_=_

He makes some spectacular nose riders, he doesn't seem to be much into performance shapes,,not that I'd be worried about that.

Well after a generous tip-off from surfanimal last night I picked up this Mickey Munoz 11' Surftech today.

A few minor blemishes and the tail needs a very light polish where a rubber tail protector was fitted but overall in really good nick and a bargain price with an FCS bag included.

Apparently they go well so I'll look forward to seeing for myself, might try a few fin combinations too.

That fin is the same as the 10.6, it's well suited to the board, I would even use it on the 10.6 without the side bites and it still gave plenty of traction in turns with the added bonus of a better turn of speed.

Try some other fins if you like, but I reckon you'll keep going back to that one.

It was on Gumtree, SA let me know about it after speaking with the guy himself on my behalf. Rang the owner and arranged to pick it up today.

11'+ project still in the works.

Not sure Al, he said he was offered $3k for it many years ago but he said he honestly doesn't know what it's worth or what he wants for it, I think he'll be open to offers.

I've had a couple of Haydens come and go over the years, Obviously hard to tell from photos but this one could be a repro from about 10 years ago. But then again very hard to tell the difference, If its rigi dig original would be a great buy, good investment for sure.

Those Munoz boards go unreal and work well in bigger waves too. I once had the 10'6 .

In that condition I would say around the 5k mark, it looks almost brand new

I've read a number of things along those lines regarding how well they go in bigger stuff.
