Good work Mac! Well done.
Can we also call you NP now. Sounds like MP!
NP for NoPro!
How did you secure the mount? Is is just a super sticky piece of double sided tape?
You need to get off that bloody tail. Just imagine like you need to run up the front for a close-up portrait.
Nice work Mac........thanks for sharing. Rose enjoyed it as well! It reminds me of a mates first surf movie - it was subtitled ' Bros not Pros"
Keep up the filming - are you going to build yourself some camera holds (e.g. Dogman & DJ) to mix up the camera angles?
I was gonna say love the crisp arvo light but then I realized it was morning light coz yr on the goldy!!
I reckon this video illustrates perfectly the amazing glide longboards have.
Great clip Mac,
I've been experimenting with freeze frames and sections of slow motion in my clips. They come up OK but I need a lot of work on my productions.
CC
Ggess mac just sat the 7month old grand daughter in front of the laptop she just sat there watching I had to play it a few times
looks good Mac , just wondering where the wetsuit is , it is winter up there isnt it ,
which model gopro is that one
stupid question , how did you add the soundtrack to your video , probably a good question to put to the kids
Good vid Mac, especially for a first effort, I know because I recently tried to take some footage with a new Muvi Cam I got, and I had to throw away every second of it because it was so bad. The problem is, I was hand holding it and I'm just not a good enough surfer to do that.
Speaking of which, I'm thinking of embedding a mount directly into the nose of the board using a modified leash plug.
I simply pushed out the stainless pin with a pin punch, cleaned up an 8M x 1.25 stainless set screw before covering it with PVA release agent (that's the blue stuff you see on the side of the screw).
Then for some strength, I threaded some fin rovings through the now empty pin hold and added a heap of finely chopped glass into the hole and the resin mix.
The used Q-cels in the resin mix (epoxy, because the only polyester I had was filler and that was too gluggy), along with some more finely chopped glass and poured it into the leash plug, then carefully push the set screw to the bottom, before plugging the pin holes to make sure all the resin did not fall out the sides.
Once it hardened, I just unscrewed the set screw and the came straight out leaving a perfect thread cut all the way to the base.
I was going to drill and tap, but I decided to do it this way because the thread would go deeper, even a plug tap would not go as deep.
Not sure yet if I'm going to use it, I first have to decide what sort of mount to put on top of it after I set it in the board.
Thats not good Mac
Thats bloody fantastic Mate, i really enjoyed that, nice music, the board looked fantastic, nice lines,no crotch shot and a good looking surfer just that sun was in a bad spot, but thats just me
well done mate
and to all Breezers please put your footage or photos up know ones going to take the pish because theirs nothing better than watching your mates surf IMHO
Thanks for the kind words everyone, not my best surfing or waves but its a start. If you can't laugh at yourself well you sure can't laugh at others.
I want to get some more look back video then I'm going to face the camera facing the nose,I think it the way to film.
Kadi great to see you out and about mate
Obct great idea mate, not only will it sit nice and flush,it will be a very clean look unlike the gopro mounts.
