Sri Lanka is a great place for a holiday. You can easily take the wife as well - she will love it. Lovely people, amazing country and incredible food. Yeah thanks for that Ted,we're thinking of going OS around about Jan next year 
If you going in Jan you need to go to the south coast. Will PM you a nice spot - spent a few weeks in front of a nice right hand point break - surfed it by myself most mornings for 3 hours until people woke up. Heaven. And that included the Christmas / NYR period.
