France vs New Zealand in the World Cup would have most Kiwis as nervous as a good looking Ewe in room full of Kiwi Viagra salesmen

I don't think its fair to stereotype Kiwi's that way. I'm sure they don't all interfere with sheep. Maybe around 40 % I reckon.

I watched the game early this morning and more than happy to be playing France. They looked completely inept in that game. Probably nothing more than a speed bump

I imagine that loss at Murryfield a few years back is haunting your folks

That was a very very long time ago - last World Cup we beat them fair and square in the final to forget the past hoo dos. I did say the speed bump comment in jest as they always do rise to the Occassion but the Irish made them look very poor and that was with 3 of their key players injured by half time. I would much rather play the French even though we have never lost to Ireland. I think thy have a better chance at upsetting your blokes on that side of the draw than France as well. So today's game was really a win win from my
Perspective a wounded and pride smashed SA is more of a concern to me.

Should have been playing us in that final anyway Ted as Warburton should never have been sent off! The Aussie have certainly played so tough exciting rugby, if they can continue the intensity they will go far.

NZ and SA haven't looked at there best in my opinion, but neither has really faced really tough opposition in my opinion. Can't look past the AB's though to be honest.

So no truth in the rumor that as part of the pre tournament medical Richie was gag testing all the boys to indentify the chokers...

SP we are just happy to be playing whoever - to be world champs you have to be able to beat everyone else and I am quietly confident we have just enough legs to do so - despite the aging process catching up with several of the boys we lost a great prop a few days back sadly but hard to complain when you look at how some of the other sides have been decimated already - Wales being the most.

World Cup will be won or lost by Bernard Folley I recond

That's what scares me ! I loved it when Quade played - you just knew he would fold. BF is really developing into a great player at international level this year. His confidence is growing and so is is decision making, his kicking remains sublime.

I was at a 'thing' in NZ a few months ago and Richie McCaw and Dan Carter were there. Just before the boys had to do their thing, with a stack of cameras focused on them, I smart mouthed Richie. I was about 5' away, and said - "don't spend all your time lying on the ball".

Afterward, he sought me out. This was a function with a lot of people and we had a chat. I wanted to hate him, but he is a top class bloke. Just a real credit to himself as a man. I enjoyed it and being a rugby nut, it didn't escape my attention that I was probably chatting to the greatest of all time.

Though we did have a great and friendly chat, I still did say, I hope you meet france in the quarters or Semis and I hope the Wallabies win.

My contribution to rugby threads can only be based on the first game I watched... Springboks vs All Blacks live around 1968 during which I was keen to see the ABs get thrashed and the second, namely Springboks vs the Wilting Petals just the other week, this time I was impartial but noted that there must have been a few rule changes since the 60's.

That second half performance ag the French was the worse. No excuses. Great half time lead. Americas Cup annoying given we were home and dry by a country mile when the time limit hit and race cancelled - rest day then the James Spital machine unleashed its new technology and it was clear from the first upwind leg that we were done for. Ouch. So close yet so far in the end.

Too many Great NZ moments obviously to go in to but what are your fav Australian moments?

1. Greg Norman - Masters (best of all time I think in all of world sport), Adam Scott British Open?
2. Sam Stouser - Australian Open?
3. Your league team the last 3 games ag NZ?
4. So many Wallabies ones - but that last match in Auckland a few weeks back was pretty special I thought. We could probably dedicate a whole thread to Quades farrrrk ups
5. Ashes - to many in recent times to list. 1981 at Hedingley was probably better though - declared at 401, England made 174 in reply then somehow won!
6. 1997 World Cup Socceroos qualifier.....I am sure that still hurts ! So close - yet so very very far.

I could keep going but am interested to see your thoughts SP & co

I guess that puts any doubts to bed about the ABs, The French and the World Cup. I thoroughly enjoyed that. I imagine a few other nations are starting to worry. The Saffas looked poor this morning early - with only Wales indiscipline at the breakdown letting them in.

Lets see how your boys do.
