Since the Longboard talk is so slow...
Here's 2 movies I have watched...
Aussie movie, "Cactus", was very good. A little bit on the "dark" side. But very good.
I also watched 12 Angry Men... 1997 movie. Might be a remake of the 1957 equivalent... you can find the 1957 version through Google / Youtube also...
Wedding Daze on YouTube is pretty funny... You think it is going to get all soppy, but it gets zany and funny... Have a watch...
We are going to give that one a go tonight Simondo - there is a lot riding on this recommendation of yours for the record
The same makers did "Boy & Girl" or maybe plurals to both... Pretty soppy... 5 or 6 out of 10.
But Wedding Daze gets about 7 or 8... Remember, it's a free movie on Youtube... Good value really...!!!
How good is his air at 1:17 - effortless!! Not sure about that pulled up sock look - will all the kids down the beach be wearing that look by next week on their skaties? Most probably ahhhhhhhhh
Thanks Prawn!
We bought one of these today... Sony BlueRay DVD Player... Front room had a Sony TV only, which we bought after the "old box TV" blew up, literally!!
But it has WiFi Internet, and now we can watch YouTube content and a heap of other internet stuff on the TV, so don't have to hold the iPad for a movie...

$121 - pretty damn good value... $40 DVD players are great value, and for $80 you have cable internet content, and at $121 you have Wireless Internet... The Wireless option was the best for us.
Did you think about Apple TV? If so why did you go this route?
I must admit I have been thinking about doing something similar for a while now but I normally just plug the HDMI into the laptop and do it that way.
I have an Apple Airport Express which I love and have always considered going ATV overkill.
Does Apple TV hook up to the internet?
Wife & son wanted a DVD player... Wife is low tech, plus my 3 (and a half) year old can have fun inserting kids DVD's and pressing play... teaches him how to use technology... So I'm pretty happy with the end result...
Simondo, these days DVD players are so cheap so why not get one especially for young kids shows. Even blue ray DVD players are under $100 and you can play standard dvd's on these (but not other way round). Apple TV has access to you tube and Vimeo as well as iTunes.
With smart tv's being cheaper then ever, dvd's are being used less and less. Dvd's will always have there place unlike VHS tapes.
When I purchased my Mac mini last year I started to use iMovie and wondered why it had nothing in the software to burn discs. I checked on the net and discovered that DVDs are no longer used as content get uploaded direct to Vimeo, YouTube and Facebook. Times have changed.
Apple TV does sound great... Will look into it... $120 is so cheap!
But my Sony TV & Sony DVD/BlueRay/InternetTV Player is also a great match... Really easy to use, and it has a stack of in-built internet channels... Even a Billabong Surfing Channel.
There's even a Free Hollywood Movie Channel which I haven't even started exploring... The front room will be my new favorite room!
hhhhmmmmm geez time to get rid of my trusty VHS machine tapes get caught nowadays bastards don't make 'em like they used to
I do like what Apple TV can do thats for sure but have always just plugged the laptop in........ I do love my Airport express - we play music from any device through the stereo with no cords - it plays over a wifi network. Makes life an absolute joy.....especially how you can drive it with your phone, iPad, laptop or anything else.
Never in million years did I think I would enjoy this one but I did.....some of the characters just seem to good to be real! There were times when I thought it was scripted........well worth a watch on iview!!!!

At 9:55 there is a fun little "Dog" mini movie... Only lasts 30 seconds... Funny stand alone scene!
Check it out Doggie!! "Beware of the dog!".
Apple TV - tick, done !! There's an NHL channel. Might become a hockey fan... who should I support!?
