Good morning guys, 6 to 8 foot here,I haven't heard from Lacey I hope he made it past the behind the rock take off point at snapper over the weekend. Out of my league I only saw one longboarder out there.
Pretty clean along the currumbin beachfront when i drove past. A perfect righthand low to mid tide bomb.
Anything else there i saw was perfect low to mid tide closeouts
Rainbow surf club just took delivery of an extra industry waist bin to accommodate the broken boards.
Kind of 666 stuff........but naish 11'4 has lots of rocker.....survived a few big drops......back in "good morning" territory
Kind of like all the local surfers are talking about.....local "happy long boarder" being laid to rest........" Anei te korero I te tangihanga o matou hoa a Paul. Karakia tonight and tomorrow 6pm at his whare 249 Lytton Road..... on Friday at 11 to 11.30am surfers karakia at the Pipe followed by a service at the Hospital Chapel at 12pm.. mauri ora."
This morning was a "good morning" though......tiny waves at town beach.....school holidays but no school children out surfing (is getting colder?)
Kind of a fun goodbye to Paul at town beach car park today. Paul mostly drove a tiny old red station wagon. They drove up today with his coffin in the back......sticking out quite a bit. His surfboards on top.....nice speech and blessings by one of local Maori spiritual talkers (a surfer of course)
A gathering of both his whanau.....and us surfers who knew him only at the beach.
Even TB was there
Good morning and good luck for the second operation today Lacey,I guess you'll be out of action for a few weeks.
Gisborne's new beachfront "surf sculpture"......the long board looks okay.....but what are those other things?
