Well you you picked one great shaper and a hoax and you call me soft serve hay bale man ..then cried when the soft serve disagreed with you....and yeh i can get to my feet,my knees,my gut,my skin....and sometimes i just make **** up like an expert in the carpark....i hope that is ok
Cool thread SP however, yes whilst I have Mc Tavish, Berger & Wegener boards the one board I have had the most fun with & think after a session that is a great board is my Bruce Palmer, Bruce has shaped for loads of the big brands over the years & made my custom (by hand) after surfing with me and talking about what I was thinking I wanted. It just seems to suit me perfect
Bruce is a local and knows the local scene and made boards to suit us all
So sure while some of the big names make great boards & have had some great riders make their boards to magical things I think for most of us having a true local shaper beats any big name out of towners.
Bruce is I'm sure one of hundreds of local guru's around the country who have helped the local crew get the best from their surfing
So for me my pick is the local crusty, no WSL or Bookface account
Mind you riding my Wegener Corky at Noosa is now giving it a run for its money.
Kind of agree with watto, a shaper that knows you and your surfing style is without doubt better than leggo.
sure there's the inventor shapers like mc T ,Anderson ,Greenough, Apia Ect Ect. Some here have mentioned MR but mr rode alot of Apia's boards, yeah they developed their skills but they all learned from someone.
Any shapers knowing what's best for your waves build style are priceless.

glen stone Geraldton made a pretty epic board
Actually you mean Mark Stone from Geraldton. Stone Surf Designs
Glen stone is from Mandurah.
I've had Mark Stone make 3 custom surfboard and 1 windsurfer, but I've also picked up another 3 surfboard s/h that he has shaped. they have some kinda magic in them.
