What fin came with your board obct and what length is it?

Big board = big motor/fin

It came without a fin, I just threw in a 10" Dion dolphin and didn't really think too much about it. Now that I'm enjoying the board so much, I'm starting to want to try a few new things.

i tried a 9.5 hatchet but it didn't impress me so I went back to the dolphin.

i would like it if the board could be whipped a little better, my pintail is exceptional at that, considering it's size, but I think that may have a lot to with the foil in the tail.

may give del a call and see what he thinks.

OB have a look at the Salty Merchants fins too, I've got a 9" flex fin in my 10' whalebone and find it a great all rounder. However on the hotlog I've heard the Shapers Big Kahuna also works well.

Vanders, I may try one of those salty flex fins, never really tried anything quite like them before, maybe the Elevator.

The more I read the more it seems to boil down to just 3 things, with only 2 really counting for me:

1. The broader bottom to top fins set back for nose riding

2. The classic dolphin with a wide base and a gradual taper set towards the middle of the box for all round performance and a good glide

3. A tall narrow flex fin set a bit forward in the box for more whippy rail to rail work and good speed out of a turn.

For me, 2 does not really count because I have 2 boards specially made for a good cruise and glide, the SouL Surf and the Munoz. 1 does not count for much because, as much as I like it, I'm not really a very good nose rider.

So I'll have a crack at a fin that may suit 3.

Summarised beautifully dude, I'd also look at that Thomas by Alkali as well. With the big rake they turn awesome but they are heavy in the turn, you drive in hard and they respond.

Maybe email melissa@alkalifins.com.au

I'm getting as bad as those Mct boys

right, stakes are raised.

im getting a imaginary fin from the 'its all in you mind" fin company

here's a photo below

man these fins do it all- nose ride fast flex stiff drive loose tight snappy edgy stable you name it.

the fin has 2 sensors- one that feels what the board is doing

the other sensors what your doing and automatically dial in your ability from expert to plodder.

colours- anything you want.

there is some many models other than the photo above but you'll just have to imagine it as they are so new they are even made yet

you'll never surf better
