G'day Ted.

The bloody thing goes!

Weighs a ton, but it paddles and keeps it's nose up on take off at PP. :D

Once it's going nothing stops it. Needs a warning light. :D

Have another blank on the stands awaiting attention, but I've been working at Narrabri. Long way to get to the surf!

I have done this a few times when I was younger and more reckless at Manu Bay at Raglan. Its best if you have a little bit of cloud cover as the light reflects a lot more. Its very hard. Can be a bit scary. You will definitely have fun though. Manu is good as there is a nicely sloped hill that the cars can throw additional light on. We only did it when it was high tide and smallish. High tide was good as the cars lights were not far from the waves and jump rock could be used. I used to think about surfing Dee Why Point on my 666 in the Old Days. Should have done it. Good lighting, easy entry. Would have been fun.

This is great news. You must be stoked - although Narrabri is probably unstoking you a bit - miles from the ocean there. You might bump into Ohh Ahhh though Make sure you post some pics of you new build.

No surf, but I did see this beautifully original 186 HR, it wasn't concourse and that's what made it look so good, it had a nice patina, couple of panels with slightly off colour matching, little bit of lumpiness in some chrome trim, just a nice combination of usability and showability with lots of original accessories

Surfed.some.really bumpy chunky waves. A wee bit north of the points. Had some.fun, just wish the wind was more friendly. We have been cursed for a while with swell and winds.....not much wanting to be friends sadly......

yeah i hear you chrispy. i waited till later and hit what i thought was a dropped off cleaner alley. bumpy chucky , up and down, full and steep- all in one wave.

the dp was a bit harder to handle in those waves with its volume and the speed gain from the take offs and bumpy faces, but still worked really well.

i've got to put a tail pad o n it so i can anchor those speed bottom turns

i'm only a lightweight atm so i might talk to sdr about this on monday in regards with the 8' er

cheers

Didn't surf today, it was poo. But I watched Taylor Jenson & Justin Redman making something out of nothing at the comp today. Those guys are amazing.....also got a new longboard, pics to come

Funny thing was I told Taylor Jenson & Nava Young (Nat Young's daughter) that the contest site was a secret spot yesterday when they asked me if this was the place lol...It wasn't, but I did end up telling them where it was

Bells was pumping!

A little bit busy (crowd) at first, but as the tide filled, my "voluminous" board worked perfect!
Should'a been on the 9'0 Speed Shape though...

We're getting a spate of "all-day-off-shores", with varying amounts of swell! Happy days...
