This should a regular topic guys, like the Good Morning Thread, etc!
We talk about plenty of other stuff at The Long Bar...
Not enough surf talk sometimes!
Wed, Fri, Sat, were all Winki for me.
Really clean and fun today. But small.
surfed on the north end gold coast. 2-3ft slight nw blowing(offshore) lots of crew...but plenty more banks than peeps. bit smaller tomorrow, but will be even cleaner than today yeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwww
well I went to a place near the Lazy Crab 85 kays or so south of Perth ..... give or take a couple of nippers .... some good sized sets came through until the Fremantle Doctor blew in & smashed it up .... bit closey early on hopefully it will clean up overnight a bit
Well thats not fair as I am on the west coast at the moment. Apparently not allowed to name names.
Surfed over the hill from home at left south of perth.
Fun waist high with crowd going from me to maximum of 5 and back to me.
Rode my 9.1 but there was young guy came out and I coundnt believe the sections he was getting through on his short board. Really smooth carving style.
Morning 666 at Penguin reef , little 1-2 foot northwest swell , good fun , only one out until the westerly wind came up .Sadly back in the steamer I think the spring suit can be safely packed away till next summer
Afternoon longboard preservation bay 3-4 foot , just myself and a bloke on a 666 . Good fun afternoon but water very crappy and lots of seawweed after a front came through couple of days ago
Plan for tomorrow is for more of the same depending on how strong the wind gets up
Winki.
Here's a photo from today. Gerard Healy from Fox Sports, AFL "On The Couch", and general commentary. I took this shot.
Simondo
more to come.
looks nice Simondo...better than the 1/2 to 1 ft of slow and weak crap we had here today - had to take the 12'6" out again - 2 days in a row - what is happening to me
Seal Island, was there a little early and was a bit steep on a low tide. Forgettable waves that the Doctor soon wiped of the map!
Scored a ridiculous number of quality waves today! : )
The pro's have rocked up. Still got an absolute stack of waves.
Most locals steer clear, and don't like the extra 100m walk over grass and gravel.
That session probably goes down as my best ever session in waist to shoulder high conditions.
Happy Days!
C-Bass was out there. Taj was stretching and getting ready to free surf when I came in.
There was a South American guy in a Blue Hurley Wettie, and when he first paddled out, he was roaming around everywhere like a SHARK! Trying to take everything. Paddling left, right, out, in... He's paddled around me, not looking at me, and I lined the Longboard Nose up with his ankle bone, and caught him square on the bone (as he paddled past). Gave him a shock, and he said sorry, and immediately settled down! Otherwise, everyone was totally well behaved, and it wasn't even crowded! I surfed Lowers with about 1-3 others... EPIC! Wave count... 30+!
Jealous. I can not even recall what a wave looks like. I am heading out now hoping to find a few 2fters to play on.....hoping being the word...it seems like ages since I last had a surf of note.
