Far from the best bike, but on the enforced trip to Melbourne yesterday retrieved my neglected bike from my factory.
Got it out of the Kombi this afternoon.

Disgraceful condition, tyres totally flat, front mudguard broken off.
Gave it a clean up and a pump up.

Gave the other neglected toy a test run too.

But back to the Best Bike.
On a trip back from WA last year, me and a mate camped at Cape Arid.
Nothing there, brilliant.
You can do about 600k along the beach east of there, but getting bogged and stuck on particularly seaweed covered in sand a big issue.
But a trip we want to do. We went dirt up to Balledonia from Arid, but it felt like pulling out of it before the good bit.
You would want two or three cars, full recovery gear(which we didn't have, on our own in a Prado)
We decided an electric fat bike to ride ahead of the cars would be the go for the beach trip.
Searching "Electric Fat Bike" throws up lots of alternatives, but anyone know anything about them?
This trip would have been happening now or soon, so no hurry, but any ideas appreciated.
Or tell me I'm an idiot!

Yeah crazy skills
Actually the guy in the wheelchair is a legend and did crazy stuff on skinny tyres and curly handlebars

He is back on a bike and this doing a race with Blake

I actually ordered a Canyon bike 2018 as direct to customer you get awesome spec for dollars.
But the Spectral was voted trail bike of year and my order was delayed months so brought another direct brand YT and Jeffsy is awesome.

Post your bike when you finished dude

That same doctor I know who I mentioned seeing him going surfing weeks ago in the midst of the Covid-19 lockdowns was telling me that most of his patients in their middle age when it came to injuries were doing it on mountain bikes. Gnarly fractures, lungs punctured, stuffed up knees and other joints from falls. Ride on thrillseekers!

Nice bike Macaha I was looking at one of those to replace my old hardtail so my daughter could ride my full sus to be faster ( when we can ride Woodhill again).
Those bikes rock with reasonable fork, short stem, dropper post, 1 by drivetrain and 27.5 x 2.8 with tyres then "ride it like you stole it".

Hey Cobra yes crazy riding the GMBN also has plenty of good riding with skills and maintenance.

Yes Cuttlefish you can get injured if you do crazy jumps but maybe lose a bit of shin (gloves are good). It's too much fun not to do when its flat.
Enjoy your bikes people

Has the fat bike fad come back like the yoyo?

They were a cool thing for a while here, and like a lot of cool **** on the goldy it quickly vanished.

There were so many around my way and then gooone . See one every now and then....in saying that we have some good bike ways and the beach ride is not really needed
They do look bad ass though

I have had my bike for a fair few years now and just had to have the back wheel respoked .

I have a quiver kaddy like tassie d and it is the bomb..i have had a few failures with board racks, and a couple that are great for one board

The qk lets me take three shorties, two mals or a mixture...that does not include all the crap i throw in the storage space.

I didn't like it on a mountain bike ,just a personal thing, but on the cruiser it so so good

The qk has been abused for most of it's life and is still going hard...not so pretty anymore, but still 100% usable

So. You take a few boards on that at the back of the bike .
Like to cover a few opinions depending on what you think the surf might be?.

Question. Are you locking up the other boards while your surfing and how?.

Ps i only have the standard type bike board rack. Not used often

You know the beachies i surf lacey...i will usually take my mini mal(mid length) kneelo, hand plane and a boog ..if i know it will be really good i have been surfing my bonzer...

On the locking it up part ,i will lock my bike up wherever and take the trailer down the beach to where I will surf....or more likely i park it at a few mates workplaces right on the beach
